World No. 2 Rory McIlroy won the Masters in April to complete the career Grand Slam. There aren’t many career accomplishments left for McIlroy to tick off. But one big one is winning the Open at Portrush. McIlroy grew up not for from the iconic Open host, playing it regularly growing up.

Now he’ll get his second chance to claim the Claret Jug at the renowned links in front of thousands of local Northern Ireland fans. And it’s a good time for McIlroy’s return to Portrush. This season he has two other big PGA Tour wins in addition to his Masters title. Just last week, he tied for second at the Genesis Scottish Open.

McIlroy’s quest for a home-country Open win begins early Thursday morning.

You can watch the first round of the Open Championship on TV via USA, which will air coverage starting at 4 a.m. ET Thursday morning. Peacock will provide exclusive early coverage beginning at 1:30 a.m. ET, in additon to featured group coverage and a Par-3 Channel.
