Wednesday season 2 continues season 1’s great casting, and with Billie Piper’s character, the show is finally changing an unfortunate trend. Wednesday season 2, part 2’s ending puts many of its characters in flux. While Wednesday heads north after Enid, Tyler leaves town with Piper’s Isadora Capri, marking a notable difference from how other new characters have fared.

Wednesday‘s characters are weird and wonderful, easily making them the best aspect of the series. Additionally, the show’s great trend of casting former Addams Family characters and recognizable stars has made it fun to guess who could appear next. Billie Piper is just one example, but she has become the most important thanks to her character reversing a significant trend.

Billie Piper Breaks Wednesday Season 2’s Character Death Trend

After numerous character deaths throughout seasons 1 and 2, Wednesday is finally changing the trend of new casting additions dying after Billie Piper’s Isadora Capri survives the season. Excitingly, Wednesday season 2’s ending also seemingly leaves room for her character to become even more important in Wednesday season 3.

Some of Wednesday‘s great casting choices, like Haley Joel Osment and Anthony Michael Hall, function more as intentionally brief guest roles. The show brings in actors that viewers will recognize from their iconic roles, but their specific characters were never intended to become long-running, so their exits aren’t particularly surprising.

Other great actors, like Addams Family veterans Christopher Lloyd and Christina Ricci, die in season 2 as well. In fact, other than Joanna Lumley’s Grandmama Hester Frump, all the other new adult characters get killed off throughout season 2. This includes those of Thandiwe Newton, Steve Buscemi, Heather Matarazzo, Frances O’Connor, Owen Painter, and Caspar Van Dien.

Lady Gaga’s Rosaline Rotwood evades this fate only because she is already dead. While the return of Gwendoline Christie’s Larissa Weems proves that Wednesday is able to bring characters back from the dead, Isadora Capri’s survival is much more significant. Unlike many of her season 2 costars, her story can continue on its own.

Where Is Isadora Capri Taking Tyler In Wednesday Season 2’s Ending?

The final episode of Wednesday season 2 sees Tyler mourning the loss of his mother. While the character visits his parents’ graves, Isadora Capri joins him, claiming that she can help him. Piper’s character tells Tyler that she knows of a community of Hydes who survive on their own without any masters.

Though Tyler is initially skeptical of Isadora, she shares that her own father was a Hyde, meaning she has sympathy for the maligned species. In the final moments of the season, the pair can be seen in Isadora’s car, presumably driving toward the Hydes’ secret location.

Something still feels slightly off about Isadora Capri, and it would not be surprising to learn that the character is harboring some big secrets. While this might turn out to be the case in Wednesday season 3, whatever happens to her and Tyler next will only be possible because Wednesday broke its deadly casting trend and kept her alive.
