The Pitt Wins Outstanding Drama Series At 2025 Emmys, Beating Severance

The Pitt beat Severance to win the Emmy Awards’ most notable award for drama series.

During the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards, The Pitt won Outstanding Drama Series. The medical drama beat the other shows that were nominated for that award, including Andor, The Diplomat, The Last of Us, Paradise, Severance, Slow Horses, and The White Lotus.

Many other notable things also happened during the ceremony.

Two major Emmy records were broken during the same night. Adolescence’s Owen Cooper winning Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie at 15 years old made him the youngest male to win an acting Emmy award. Meanwhile, The Studio won 13 awards, which allowed it to break the record for the comedy show to win the most Emmys in a single year.

The most joyous moment during the 2025 ceremony had to be when Jeffrey Hiller won his first Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Hiller’s fellow nominees, Bowen Yang and Michael Urie, seemed absolutely overjoyed to have lost to the Somebody Somewhere actor.

Hiller wasn’t the only notable first-time winner during the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards. In fact, several other artists took home their first Emmy trophy.
