As we head into the first week of October, the number of game releases is ramping up, and this is the time when companies release their biggest games of the year, and Sony is no exception.
This week marks the biggest release of the year for PlayStation’s first-party studios, and it’s one that a lot of gamers have been waiting for.
Aside from the first-party PlayStation release, over 20 games are releasing on the PS5 and PS4 this week, continuing the high volume of releases we’ve seen over the past few weeks.
PS5, PS4 Game Releases On PSN For The Week Of Sept. 29 To Oct. 5
PS5, PS4 Release Highlights For The Week
- Alien Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition (PS5 – Sept. 30) – A new action-horror story game set in the Alien universe. Originally released as a VR title in December last year, the game is getting more traditional release with upgraded visuals and other enhancements.

- Ghost of Yotei (PS5 – Oct. 2) – Easily the biggest release for PS5 gamers for the year, this is the sequel to the excellent Ghost of Tsushima. Not only is this an excellent single-player affair according to critics, but it will even receive a multiplayer experience free for base game owners in 2026.
- Digimon Story Time Stranger (PS5 – Oct. 3) – The seventh game in the Story subseries of Digimon, the game was originally announced back in 2017. After being in development limbo in years, Time’s Stranger was re-revealed with its first trailer during the Feb. 12 State of Play. It’s now full steam ahead for this Digimon game after years of development difficulties.
