Stitch SL2 Gen 2 Golf Bag Review: My Personal Favorite Premium Bag Is 30% Off Right Now

I am genuinely obsessive when it comes to my golf bag and headcovers and have searched high and low for the perfect ones. I can say with confidence that the Stitch SL2 Gen 2 is the best golf bag I’ve ever owned. It’s clean, built like something that actually deserves the word premium, and has a throwback feel without looking like you’re cosplaying as Sam Snead. Simply put, it respects the heritage of the game while embracing pure, modern sport, and considering Stitch’s racing heritage, it makes sense.

Stitch is a brand I discovered by accident, and when I did, it was just one of those brands that completely took me in. On looks alone, I wanted pretty much everything I saw, and on a whim decided to give the SL2 Gen 2, and Roadster and Lifesaver headcovers a try.

Two days later, a big box from Stitch was on my porch, and I opened that sucker up immediately. I couldn’t believe just how good everything looks and feels in real life. The materials feel and look premium, the details are awesome, and everything about it screams heritage, sport, and most importantly function… It’s one of those bags that looks just as good in the trunk as it does on the first tee. And right now, it’s 30% off during Stitch’s Anniversary Sale, which pretty much never happens. If you’ve been thinking about upgrading to something that’ll outlast every trend in your lineup, this is the time to do it— you won’t regret it. You will immediately become that guy with the sick bag and headcovers, and that is absolutely okay.

Heritage Design Meets Modern Sport

There’s a fine line between minimal and boring. Stitch understands that line better than almost anyone in golf. The SL2 Gen 2 looks and feels like it was designed by someone who is obsessed with and appreciates the history of golf and plays regularly, but also cares about modern design, practicality, and performance. Think about it this way: if this bag was a car, it would be a Porsche 911. This bag simply nails it in the looks department.

Looks aside, this bag performs. I loathe club tangle in a bag, and have gone through countless bags over the years because of it. The SL2 Gen 2 has full-length dividers, so thankfully, club tangle is greatly curtailed. I can easily fit 14 clubs inside with little to no real issues. The pocket layout is efficient, not excessive. You’ve got space for everything you need: rangefinder, tees, balls, and water, and even a jacket if you need it. Even the aluminum stand legs feel premium, and are some of the sturdiest feeling I’ve ever used.

Quiet Confidence in a Market of Loud Gear

Golf gear is loud these days (Jason Day, I’m looking at you). The SL2 Gen 2 is the opposite of that. It’s confident without trying to prove it. Stitch’s aesthetic leans more toward bespoke tailoring than streetwear, and it shows. The brand calls it “dress your game,” which sounds like marketing until you see the bag next to anything else on the market. Then it clicks. To really make it feel like my own, I got my bag personalized with my initials: IAM, and it looks great.

Mine’s in the navy and white combo, which looks timeless. There’s a real balance to it: sporty but polished, simple but not sterile. It looks and feels high-end without looking like it’s trying to be, and in my opinion, that’s how you know you’ve got a good product.

How to Save on a Bag That Almost Never Goes on Sale

Stitch is celebrating its Anniversary Sale, and the SL2 Gen 2 is 30% off, a discount they almost never run on this model. The SL2 Gen 2 retails for $398, and the discount takes it all the way down to $278.60. That brings the price down to a point where it’s competing directly with mid-tier bags… That means if you’re in the market for a new bag or just want to go the premium route, this is an easy call. If you’re browsing the rest of their lineup, here’s how the discounts break down:

  • 20% OFF $100+ — use code DRESSYOURGAME
  • 25% OFF $200+ — use code FROMWORKTOPLAY
  • 30% OFF $300+ — use code ARRIVEINSTYLE

But for this bag specifically, 30% off is a steal. These sales don’t last long, and Stitch’s stock tends to move fast, especially in popular colorways. So, again, if you’re looking to upgrade your bag, follow the advice of a little startup atheltic brand: just do it.
