There are many amazing and magical items found throughout Baldur’s Gate 3 that range from magnificent cloaks to powerful legendary weapons and armor. Odds are, no matter what class you are playing as, you will find something that will work with your playthrough.
One of the more unique items in the game is the Corvid Token — a necklace that lets you transform yourself and take to the skies. Of course, it does much more than allow you to transform, but obtaining this item is no simple task. Let’s break down how you can get the Corvid Token in Baldur’s Gate 3.
What is the Corvid Token?
The Corvid Token is a very rare amulet in Baldur’s Gate 3 that is obtained in the game’s third act. This powerful magic amulet gives you the ability Polymorph: Dire Raven, allowing you to transform into a Dire Raven as a class action.
On top of this, the amulet also grants you the ability Boon of the Raven Queen. This ability has two effects. For starters, it increases your jump and flying speed by 1.5m, allowing you to travel farther during combat.
Second, the ability applies the Feather Fall effect to your character. This effect acts as though you have had the Feather Fall spell cast on you, eliminating fall damage and allowing you to fall slowly. This effect persists even when you are polymorphed.
While the Corvid Token can be used effectively by any of the classes in Baldur’s Gate 3, I prefer to use it on a druid character. The necklace fits the theme of the druid class and grants you an additional wild shape transformation thanks to the polymorph ability.
Overall, the polymorph ability granted by the necklace is great for discovering new areas around Baldur’s Gate. As a bonus, it is great in combat for escaping enemies and reaching an area where you can heal if the need arises.
Where to Find the Corvid Token
The Corvid Token can be quite difficult to obtain, as it depends on whether you are invested in a specific side quest. This is the side quest for Mattis. Primarily, it is keeping him alive throughout the story.
The first time you will meet Mattis is in the Emerald Grove, where you will also be requested by Mol to retrieve the Druid Idol. Mattis is the Tiefling child who acts as a merchant. As long as you save the Tieflings in Act One, Mattis will move to the Last Light Inn during Act Two.
From here, you will need to save the Tiefling children in Act Two. Doing so will move Mattis to Rivington in Act Three, granting you access to a rather extensive shop — something that is well worth the effort.
Once you reach Act Three, make your way to the southeast corner of the map to the Requisitioned Barn run by the Flaming Fists. Here, you will find Mattis outside near the barn’s lower entrance.
Mattis will sell you the Corvid Token for around 600 gold. This also depends on your standing with Mattis, and whether he is friendly toward you or not, meaning the price can vary.
