Sunita died in a car bomb blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday, November 10th. The explosion happened in a Hyundai i20 near the Subhash Marg traffic signal, killing 12 people and injuring several others. Payal is deeply upset by the tragedy and revealed that she had spoken to Sunita just a week ago.

Payal’s reaction Payal Ghosh said, “I still can’t believe she is no more. We were talking a week ago. She was always happy and spread positivity. It is really sad and unbelievable that such a kind soul is gone like this.” She added, “She wasn’t just my friend, she was like family. We grew up together, shared dreams, and laughed and played. Losing her like this is devastating.” Payal appealed to everyone to stand in solidarity with the families of the victims and support them.
Delhi government’s help
On Tuesday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced ex gratia compensation for the families of those killed in the blast and ₹5 lakh for those seriously injured or permanently disabled. “In this difficult time, the Delhi government expresses its condolences to all the families who lost their loved ones and those who were injured,” the chief minister said.
Who is the suspect?
The Hyundai i20 car used in the blast near Delhi’s Red Fort metro station parking was allegedly driven by Mohammad Umar, a Kashmiri doctor suspected to be behind the deadly explosion that killed 12 people and left several others injured, Delhi police sources told PTI.
Who is Payal Ghosh?
Payal Ghosh is an Indian actress and politician who primarily appears in Telugu and Hindi films. She is the vice president of the women’s wing of the Republican Party of India (Athawale). She started acting at 17 years old. She starred in a few Hindi and Telugu films and was even in a Canadian film. But, in April 2020, she stated that she was out of work, financially broke, and was leading a life she had never imagined. On 23 September 2020, Ghosh accused Anurag Kashyap of sexually harassing her back in Mumbai in 2013 and filed a case against him. Kashyap dismissed the allegations as baseless, calling it an attempt to silence him from criticising the government. He denied the allegations and provided documents as evidence to prove that he was filming in Sri Lanka at the time of the alleged incident that had taken place in Mumbai. Actor Richa Chadha filed a defamation suit in the Bombay High Court against Payal Ghosh for attempting to unnecessarily drag Chadha’s name into Ghosh’s allegation against Kashyap.
