Dhanush calls love an ‘Overrated Emotion’ post-divorce from Aishwarya Rajinikanth at…
At the trailer launch event, Dhanush and Kriti were asked about their personal thoughts and opinions on love. Read on to know what they said.
The trailer of Anand L. Rai’s film Tere Ishq Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, was launched yesterday. At the trailer launch event, both actors were asked about their personal thoughts and opinions on love. At first, both Dhanush and Kriti hesitated, but then Dhanush smiled and said, “I don’t know.” Someone jokingly said that Dhanush was “too young” to talk about it, to which he replied in a lighthearted tone, “I think it’s just another overrated emotion.” Kriti immediately chimed in, saying that Dhanush’s character, Shankar, in her film, would not like this at all. Dhanush laughed and said that he’s nothing like his character.
All about Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth divorce
Dhanush’s comment also reignited discussions about his personal life. Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth were married in a grand ceremony in Chennai in 2004. After 18 years of marriage, the couple released a joint statement announcing their decision to take their relationship in a different direction. In the statement, they wrote, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been one of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today, we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwaryaa/Dhanush and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand each other as individuals for the better. Please do respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this.”
Dhanush and Aishwarya’s decision to separate did not mean that they would stop sharing the care of their two sons—Yatra and Linga—today. In 2022, they declared their separation on social media and afterward, formally filed for divorce. Even though their personal lives have undergone changes, both of them still give the highest priority to their children’s welfare and family honor. Thus, their words and actions have consistently shown that they are maturing through the process.
