Actor Saanand Verma, widely recognized as Saxena Ji from the popular TV show Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain, recently alleged that Gulshan Grover hit him forcefully during the shooting of the web series First Copy, featuring Munawar Faruqui. He stated that the slap was deliberate and not an ‘acting wala thappad.’ Even though Saanand felt extremely angry, he mentioned he opted not to talk to anyone, choosing to avoid negativity. He referred to Grover as a ‘narcissistic’ individual.

In a chat with Siddharth Kannan, Saanand mentioned, “Gulshan Grover actually slapped me tightly in First Copy, for real. From the inside, I felt like slitting that man’s throat, but I didn’t say anything. I haven’t said anything till date, I’m revealing this for the first time here. He did it intentionally, that wasn’t acting.”

Saanand also mentioned that Gulshan didn’t give him any warning prior to hitting him; otherwise, he would have been prepared for the actual slap. The actor mentioned that it’s important to notify someone prior to a real slap to make them known of it, but Gulshan didn’t do that, which Saanand believed was incorrect. He confessed that he had the urge to grab a chair and strike Gulshan, but ultimately, he maintained his smile.
The actor mentioned that throughout his career, he has experienced being slapped thousands of times, and he thinks no other actor has endured more slaps than he has. He mentioned that he is recognized for enduring slaps, and even in Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain, he has received slaps multiple times, but always in a proper, professional way.
Saanand Verma calls Gulshan Grover ‘self obsessed man’
Saanand Verma shared how Anil Kapoor has the courtesy to apologise after slapping, but not Gulshan. “He is a self obsessed man. He is tied to an image of being a bad man. He does all this to maintain that image,” he concluded.
