Indian women’s cricket team star batsman Smriti Mandhana has postponed her wedding due to her father, Shriniwas Mandhana’s, sudden health deterioration. She was scheduled to marry musician Palash Muchhal on Sunday, but her father’s health deteriorated that morning. Smriti is very close to her father and has been with him throughout his cricketing career. Consequently, the family and team decided to postpone the wedding until his condition improved. Smriti Mandhana’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, stated that Shriniwas Mandhana’s health suddenly deteriorated while eating breakfast. The family initially thought his condition would improve shortly, but when his condition did not improve, an ambulance was immediately called. He was taken to the hospital, and doctors advised him to remain under observation for the time being. Mishra stated that Smriti did not want to get married in her father’s absence under any circumstances.

Tuhin Mishra further stated that Smriti has made it clear that the wedding will only take place when her father is fully recovered. In his words,”Smriti’s father, Shriniwas Mandhana was having breakfast this morning, and his health started deteriorating. We waited thinking he would recover soon, but it didn’t improve. So we thought not to take any risk and called an ambulance, and he has been taken to the hospital. He is under observation. Smriti is very close to her father. So, she has decided to postpone the marriage, which was going to happen today, till her father is fine. The doctor has said he (Mandhana’s father) will have to be in the hospital for the time being.We are also in shock and hope that he recovers quickly because it’s a big occasion for everyone.” He also appealed to the media and fans to respect the family’s privacy.

Meanwhile, there is no information regarding a new wedding date. The wedding has been postponed indefinitely. Tuhin Mishra stated that Smriti’s father’s health is of paramount importance to her, and that the next wedding date will be decided once he recovers. Meanwhile, the family doctor, Dr. Naman Shah, stated that around 1:30 pm on Sunday, Shriniwas Mandhana experienced severe chest pain on his left side, medically known as angina. His cardiac enzymes were found to be elevated, so he has been admitted to the hospital and kept under observation.

Wedding preparations had begun a week earlier in Smriti Mandhana’s family, and celebrations were underway in her hometown of Sangli. However, this unexpected incident has put all events on hold.
