Former actress and model Celina Jaitly recently filed a case of domestic abuse against her husband, Peter Haag. The actress’s lawyer shared the allegations against the Austrian businessman, revealing the details about all the abuse that was faced by Celina in the marriage. Other than the details about domestic violence, her lawyer also claimed that Peter financially manipulated her. The claims are yet to be publicly refuted by the businessman. She filed the application to a Mumbai court, Karanjwala & Co. In it, she accused her husband of cruelty, manipulation, coercion, and financial control under provisions of the Domestic Violence Act.
Celina Jaitly’s accusations and case
Her lawyer, Niharika Karanjawala, talked to Mid-Day, where she said, “She practically had to escape and run to India with nothing. She wasn’t in a position to bring her children. She feared her husband might make out a case of kidnapping, which could have permanently harmed her custody case.”
Niharika also added that Peter used to stop her from acting, even though her career was going well at the time of their wedding. She also revealed that the actor is seeking compensation for “unrealized potential profits” she could have had from her career.
Celina has demanded a total compensation of Rs. 50 crore as well as Rs. 10 lakh per month as maintenance. On Tuesday, she shared a note on Instagram, which said, “In the middle of the strongest, most turbulent storm of my life, I never imagined I would spend it fighting alone, without any parents, without any support system. I never thought there would come a day without all the pillars on which the roof of my world once rested: my parents, my brother, my children, & the one who promised to stand by me, love me, care for me, & bear every trouble with me.”
