Top 2026 NFL Draft Prospects

I use my sub-trait grade framework to sort players into brackets, and then have the autonomy to sort players within those brackets based on other notable factors such as production, medicals, off-field history, and more.

The 2025 college football season has already given us countless NFL Draft developments to monitor, and we’ll have plenty of time to go over them all as the season progresses. Today, we’ll start by rehashing the top QBs and the debate that Ty Simpson, Fernando Mendoza, and Dante Moore are stirring up.

The QB1 battle has been a true week-to-week affair. Mendoza led my board at QB for most of the year. Then Simpson leapt in front with a strong midseason showing. And now, with the regular season nearing a close, Moore is my new QB1 — with a chance to stay on top.

From the start, Moore bore resemblance to C.J. Stroud — a former second-overall pick and first-overall caliber talent who made the Pro Bowl in his very first season as an NFL starter. But Moore has never been more consistent, or more surgical, as a multi-level distributor than he is now.

There were moments earlier in the year where Moore’s clutch gene was visible — most notably in an overtime thriller against Penn State in Happy Valley. That game was impressive, but now we know it wasn’t a fluke, as Moore has stacked steely late-season performances against Iowa, Minnesota, and CFB Playoff hopeful USC.

Moore sees the field so well for his lower experience level, and he can quickly discern leverage and spacing opportunities. He’s disciplined in the pocket, pinpoint with his precision, and he has the combined high-end creative athleticism and arm talent that his counterparts in the 2026 NFL Draft can’t quite match.

It’s still an open book and an open conversation, but as of now, Moore has the edge over Mendoza and Simpson on my 2026 NFL Draft board, and if he declares, he’ll be a surefire contender for the first overall pick.
