Switzerland vs Belgium Head-to-Head
This is the first time these two nations will be playing each other at the United Cup.
Switzerland began its campaign this year with a 3-0 win over France. Bencic and Wawrinka won their respective singles matches against Léolia Jeanjean and Arthur Rinderknech, after which Bencic teamed up with Jakub Paul to win against the duo of Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah and Édouard Roger-Vasselin. In their next tie against Italy, Wawrinka lost to Flavio Cobolli in a hard-fought match. Still, Bencic brought her best as she won her singles tie against Jasmine Paolini and then teamed up with Paul once more to win against the experienced duo of Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori.
In the quarterfinals, Switzerland faced off against Argentina, where Wawrinka lost his match against Sebastian Baez. Bencic saved the day once more, as she won her singles tie against Solana Sierra and then teamed up with Paul once more, winning against the pair of María Lourdes Carlé and Guido Andreozzi.
Belgium started its United Cup campaign with a 1-2 loss against China. Even though Elise Mertens won against Zhu Lin in the women’s singles, Zizou Bergs lost to Zhang Zhizhen, and then later the duo of Bergs and Mertens lost to the team of Zhang and Zhu in the doubles. In the next match, Belgium swept Canada 3-0, with Mertens and Bergs winning their respective matches against Victoria Mboko and Félix Auger-Aliassime. They then teamed up later to win the doubles against the pair of Mboko and Cleeve Harper.
Belgium faced the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals. Once again, Bergs and Mertens raised their levels, winning against the fancied opponents, such as Jakub Menšík and Barbora Krejčíková. With the semifinal spot already secured, Belgium sent in the duo of Greet Minnen and Sander Gillé, who lost to the duo of Linda Fruhvirtová and Dalibor Svrčina.
Switzerland vs Belgium Prediction
In the men’s match, Wawrinka has a 1-0 head-to-head record against Bergs, having won their only match 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-4 at Marseille in 2023. However, given that Wawrinka is on his last legs in his tennis career, Bergs will be the slight favorite going into the match.
In the women’s tie, Mertens has a 1-0 head-to-head record against Bencic, courtesy of a 6-2, 6-1 win over the Swiss player at the 2021 Australian Open. However, given the current form, Bencic will have the slight advantage in the upcoming match.

The probable teams in the mixed doubles would be Bencic and Paul for Switzerland and Bergs and Mertens for Belgium. Having won all three of their previous doubles fixtures, the Swiss team is the favorite for the win.
Switzerland is the favorite to win the tie and advance to the final, as they hold the advantage in both the women’s singles and the doubles match.
