Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner set for opening matches at Wimbledon on June 30 and July 1

The 2025 edition of Wimbledon is fast approaching, and fans now know when two of the tournament’s biggest stars will make their debuts. Carlos Alcaraz, the defending champion, is scheduled to open play on Centre Court on Monday, June 30. This follows the long-standing tradition at Wimbledon where the reigning men’s singles champion kicks off the tournament on the main stage.

Jannik Sinner, currently ranked world No. 1, will begin his campaign the following day, Tuesday, July 1. As the top seed, Sinner is placed in the opposite half of the draw from Alcaraz, ensuring they cannot meet before the final. His debut will be part of the first-round matches from the top half of the men’s draw.

The full draw will be revealed on Friday, June 27, which will determine the potential paths for both players. With Alcaraz aiming for a third consecutive title at SW19 and Sinner seeking his first Wimbledon crown, the stage is set for a thrilling fortnight of grass-court action.
