England National Cricket Team’s young batting sensation Harry Brook hit a fantastic hundred in the second Test match against the India National Cricket Team on Friday, July 4.
Fans on X showered rich praise on the England star Harry Brook following his terrific show with the bat on Day 3 of the Test match at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
Harry Brook brings England back into the game
India piled up a colossal score of 587 runs on the board in their first innings with the bat, thanks to captain Shubman Gill’s historic 269-run knock.

With the ball, Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj provided India with a good start and reduced England to 84/5. The hosts were totally down and out when Jamie Smith joined Harry Brook in the middle.
Any further wickets would have pushed completely out of the game, but Harry Brook, along with Jamie Smith, didn’t let that happen.
Brook batted cautiously while Smith played a counterattack knock to shift the momentum back towards England.
Smith hit his ton off 80 balls, and Brook reached the three-figure milestone off 137 balls. England white-ball skipper registered his ninth century in Test cricket in great fashion by cutting Prasidh Krishna past a diving gully and down to deep third for four.
The Yorkshireman has hit nine tons in 44 innings in Test cricket, and this is the fewest innings taken by any player to score nine Test centuries in the last 17 years. Also, his nine tons are the second-most by a batter in Tests since 2022.
Fewest innings to register a ninth Test 100 for England:
37 – Denis Compton
43 – Herbert Sutcliffe
44 – Harry Brook
50 – Wally Hammond
As Brook smashed his century, Nasser Hussain labelled him as an incredible talent, and the young batter also earned praise from Ravi Shastri and Alex Hartley.
“Brook is an incredible talent. He got 99 on his home ground but he gets to three figures here at Edgbaston. He averages over 60 in Test cricket,” former England skipper Nasser Hussain said on Sky Sports.
“What a conversion rate. Nine hundreds in 27 Tests, so every three Tests, he gets a hundred!” former India head coach Ravi Shastri said on Sky Sports.
“Last night was tricky, Harry Brook has been so good today though, he came out with a job to do and has played calmly. He so deserves this 100,” former England bowler Alex Hartley said on BBC Test Match Special.

What a brilliant counterattack from England. India got the reward for adding batting depth but the bowling has looked under pressure against Harry Brook and Jamie Smith
