For those diving into Persona5: The Phantom X, acquiring Golden Tickets, meant for unlocking new characters from certain banners, can be done in many ways. One of which is opening up treasure chests during your playthrough of the game’s story, some of which contain a precious Golden Ticket.
But sometimes, your life as a thief requires you to be a little more skilled in the art of lock-picking. Yes, the mechanic of lock-picking is very much included in Persona5: The Phantom X, as those sneaky shadows have put a lock on some of those treasure chests.

We are Phantom Thieves, and we make our own luck.
Let me tell you, nothing is more annoying than pulling up to a glowing treasure chest that is full of all types of goodies, only to be met with the dialogue that it needs a lockpick to open. Then you realize that you don’t have any lockpicks in your inventory, which means you miss out.
This guide will teach you where to find the materials necessary to make lockpicks, and then how to make them. Thankfully, Persona5: The Phantom X doesn’t make it too difficult, but knowing how to create them in the first place is something that is lost on many players.
How To Make Lockpicks In Persona5: The Phantom X
So, you’re ready to take the next step in being a professional thief that can crack any treasure chest? You’ll need to know how to make those useful lockpicks if you want to do so, and following these steps will make that little task feel like a breeze.
- Head over to your apartment and enter your bedroom.
- Approach your desk and select the Workbench option.
- Choose the Lockpick option.
- Select the amount of the item you wish to create, and then select OK.
Once you’ve followed these simple steps, the lockpicks will be created and added to your inventory. I’d recommend making at least a dozen to ensure you’ll have enough for at least a couple of stages before you run out and have to make some more.
If it’s that easy, why wouldn’t you already have lockpicks in your inventory in the first place? Well, it does require some raw materials, and you’re not likely to run into them during your playthrough, but we’ll go through the procedure of acquiring these materials, as well as how many you’ll need.

Materials For Lockpicks In Persona5: The Phantom X
Just when you’re ready to start crafting away and making as many lockpicks as you can before bedtime, you suddenly realize that you don’t have the materials. It’s annoying to have to slip out of your pajamas and head out late at night to get them.
Here’s what you’ll need to create a lockpick:
- Moissanite x1
- Aluminum Sheet x1
- Mercury x1
I’d recommend stocking up on as many of each item as possible, as you simply can’t have too many lockpicks. These raw materials do cost money, some more than the others, so be sure to have a proper amount of cash on you before making the trip to the city.
Where To Get Raw Materials For Lockpicks
The reliable Second Hand Shop is where you can find all your raw material needs in Persona5: The Phantom X. When searching for which raw materials you need to create, use the “How To Get” icon for a quick way to get to the shop and make your purchases.
Once you talk to the shop owner, you can begin adding raw materials to your inventory. Aluminum Sheets go for 100 Yen each, Mercury goes for 500 Yen each, and Moissanite is the most expensive item on the menu, coming in at 1,200 Yen a pop.
I’d suggest working at the Flower Shop, Convenience Store, and Beef Bowl Shop to fill up your bank account before heading over to the Second Hand Shop. Things can get quite expensive when you’re buying in bulk, but the rewards from those locked treasure chests are worth the investment.
