The struggles were most evident on her beloved clay courts. While Świątek built her reputation dominating on clay in previous seasons, she couldn’t replicate that form in 2025. Stuttgart brought a quarterfinal exit, Madrid ended in the semifinals, and Rome delivered a shocking second-round loss. These results led to a drop in her WTA ranking from No. 2 to No. 5.
The title drought continued at the 2025 French Open, where Świątek fell in the semifinals and failed to defend her crown. That defeat sent her tumbling to No. 8 in the WTA rankings, the lowest she’d been in years.
