Here’s what exactly working in Saiyaara’s favour

Is Saiyaara worth the hype?

Mohit Suri directed Saiyaara, featuring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, is doing wonders at the box office. The movie has already crossed the Rs 150 crore mark within just six days. The movie’s craze has broke all the barriers among fans. Social media is flooded with reels showing movie goers crying, ripping off their shirts. One even appeared in the theatre with IV drip. With all these hilarious events taking place, the question remains: Is Saiyaara worth the hype?

Is it too depressing to watch?

Not at all. Saiyaara definitely has an emotional touch to it and that’s what makes it beautiful. However it is not as depressing as most viral reels are claiming it to be. Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda led movie is not only about pain- its about love, healing, memories. It’s about the connection that stays even when memory fades (given the fact that Aneet’s character Vaani is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.)

Will you leave the theatre crying

One might get emotional given the plot, however, the story is just another Mohit Suri narrative, which the audience have already seen before. Therefore, it is nothing something extraordinary plot to make audience cry about. The performances of the debutants Ahaan and Aneet definitely deserve the praise. In terms of a debut movie, the new pair have done really well.

Plot is slow, lacks depth

With all the praise and hype, the plot of Saiyaara is actually slow paced, especially the second half. The plot lacks the required dept. The character of Krish Kapoor (Ahaan) was introduced as a rough and rude guy. But the story failed to explain in depth, what made him that way. It showed his father turned alcoholic after his mother passed away. But is it enough to explain the lead’s rough and tough character?

Real star of Saiyaara- the MUSIC

The music was the movie’s sole star. Suri, who is well-known for his films Aashiqui 2 (2013), Woh Lamhe (2006), and Zeher (2005), has let the music do the magic. Every one of these movies had a hit song that helped draw in viewers. In Saiyaara’s case, it the title track.

Can you get empathetic to Vaani’s character?

The film portrays Vaani’s character (played by Aneet Padda) to be an Alzheimer’s patient. However, Saiyaara didn’t explore her character much- in terms of the medical condition, its affects on her life and family. Her condition only triggers when she comes across her ex. So you can’t get empathetic to Vaani’s character.

No intriguing plot twist

Unlike Mohit Suri films like Ashiqui 2, Ek Villain and others, Saiyaara did not have an intriguing climax. Given all the hype and social media reels, it initially seemed to have a heartbreaking climax. However, surprisingly, Krish and Vaani gets happily married at the end of the film.

Why Saiyaara is winning hearts?

At the heart of Saiyaara lies a sensitive and emotionally charged story. While the filmmakers have not confirmed it officially, many fans feel the film is inspired by the Korean cult masterpiece A Moment to Remember. The themes of love, remembrance, and loss are universally resonant. For today’s youngsters, who are navigating complex emotions and relationships, the Saiyaara story feels raw and real.
