Businessman Sunjay Kapur died on June 12. He reportedly passed away while playing a polo match in London. He was just 53 years old. As per several reports, Sunjay Kapur allegedly swallowed a bee while playing a polo match, leading to a cardiac arrest. He was the ex-husband of actress Karisma Kapoor. His funeral was held on June 19, in Delhi. Almost more than a month after his passing, reports of his mother Rani Kapur raising doubts over the circumstances of her son’s death have hit headlines. As per reports, Rani Kapur has urged Sona Group to defer the AGM of the company as she her doubts and alleged ‘misuse’ of documents.
Sunjay Kapur’s mother writes a letter to the board of Sona Comstar
As per reports, Rani Kapur has allegedly called her son Sunjay Kapur’s death ‘unexplained and suspicious’. She has reportedly revealed that despite demanding a formal explanation and documentation about her son’s death, she hasn’t received any. She also claimed that she was made to sign a few papers while she was in a state of mourning, without being provided proper contents of the documents. In a letter written to the board, Rani Kapur allegedly wrote, “Please take note that during the aforesaid period of grieving, I was approached multiple times and compelled to sign various documents without explanation or even having time to read and understand the same. Despite being under immense mental and emotional distress, I was coerced into signing such documents behind locked doors and though I’ve requested repeatedly, the contents of such documents have never been revealed to me,” she said.
In the letter shared by CNBCTV 18, Rani Kapur has revealed that she has been totally ‘denied access’ to her accounts and is now left to the mercy of a select few for survival. Rani Kapur has clarified that she hasn’t given authority to anyone to officially nominate anyone to come on the board of the company.

After divorce with Karisma Kapoor, Sunjay Kapur married Priya Sachdev. They have a son named Azarius. Post his demise, Priya Sachdev got appointed as Non-Executive Director of Sona Comstar.
