Since the combined market share of both companies remained steady at around 60%, it suggests that Marvel’s loss directly became DC’s gain, indicating a clear shift in reader interest.
DC achieved this impressive growth by listening to what fans had been asking for. Readers wanted a return of beloved character versions, fewer Batman-centric titles, the revival of the infinite multiverse, a full move away from the New 52, and more beginner-friendly stories across the publishing line.
