Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival – now to September 2025

Celebrating 36 years, Bard of the Beach Shakespeare Festival returns to Sen̓áḵw/Vanier Park in Vancouver. Four different performances will take place on the Main Stage: Much Ado About Nothing, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] [again], and The Dark Lady.

Theatre Under the Stars – July 5 – August 24, 2025

Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) presents Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Legally Blonde The Musical at Stanley Park’s iconic Malkin Bowl. 

Early Music Vancouver Summer Festival, BACH & MOZART: In Endless Ascent – July 26 to August 8, 2025

The Early Music Vancouver Summer Festival celebrates its 55th festival season. Explore the interconnectedness of music, nature, and the elevation of the soul in “BACH & MOZART: In Endless Ascent” at various Vancouver venues.

Festival highlights include: a rich ensemble of more than 50 established and emerging international and Canadian early music artist; a special solo appearance from keyboardist and Pacific Baroque Orchestra director Alexander Weimann; a celebration of music and dance, featuring the Montreal-based baroque dance company Les Jardins Chorégraphiques; and a rare, collaborative fusion of Chinese and Baroque instruments in dialogue across cultures and centuries in Silk Strings, among many other performances.

PNE Fair – August 16-September 1, 2025

PNE Summer Nights Concerts – August 16-September 1, 2025

One of the most popular programs of the annual PNE Fair, the Summer Night Concerts, will be held in the Pacific Colosseum. Diverse performances will showcase iconic figures from music history in Pop, Rock, and R&B, along with rising stars in the industry.

Here are some of the performers: Mother Mother, Lynyard Skynyrd, Tom Cochran, Marianas Trench, Gypsy Kings, Foreigner and more. Admission to the Fair is free with the purchase of show tickets.

Trout Lake Farmers Market – Saturdays, April – end of October, 2025

Trout Lake Farmers Market brings farm-fresh goodness to the city with fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, eggs and dairy products. There is a good selection of artisan foods and crafts, food trucks, and buskers. The market is located in the north parking lot.

Astro Arts Festival – August 8-10, 2025

Watch 30+ murals, street art, and graffiti works come to life, live. 165 West 4th Avenue. 

Festival of India – August 23-24, 2025

Chant, dance and be happy. At Creekside Park, near Science World, participate in the Festival of India and the ancient Ratha Yatra festival, celebrating its 52nd year in Vancouver. On Saturday, Soul Veg offers yoga, live music, and a fun zone for kids and teens.

Sunday is the full day of the festival. It starts with a parade with giant floats, then live music, theatre, cultural dance, Kirtans, a kids’ and teens’ fun zone, and a vegetarian feast to feed thousands.

Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival – August 9, 2025

Deer Lake Park is the perfect setting for this family-friendly celebration of music, art, and culture, which features an impressive lineup featuring legendary artists, rising stars, and diverse musicians.  There will be food trucks, a beer garden and more.

Burnaby Farmers Market – May 13 through the end of October

Shop for an assortment of B.C. crafts, various farm-fresh produce and delicious baked foods while listening to live music. The market opens May 13 and 14 and then operates every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Location: Burnaby City Hall near Deer Lake.

Summer Stages Confederation Park – Weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays to August 28, 2025

Celebrate summer with a free live performance series every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Spray Park. Bring a blanket or chair to sit on and enjoy. The stage is located near the spray park.

Coquitlam August Events

BC Dumpling Festival – August 9, 2025

The Asian Arts and Culture Society presents the 4th Annual BC Dumpling Festival to celebrate our diverse community. This multicultural, family-friendly event showcases dumplings from different cultures. It brings families, friends, neighbours, community organizations, and businesses from different cultures together to share food, entertainment, and laughter.

The festival will take place in Town Centre Park.

North Vancouver and West Vancouver Festivals and Events

Ambleside Farmers Market – May through the end of October

Shop the Ambleside Farmers Market for an assortment of B.C. Crafts, a variety of farm-fresh produce and delicious prepared foods. The market is open from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Sundays at Ambleside Park.

Breakfast with the Bears on Grouse Mountain – August 2025

Breakfast with the Bears allows early access to the mountain to watch resident Grizzly bears, Grinder and Coola, enjoy their breakfast and learn from one of the wildlife experts about Grizzlies and bear conservation. 21st Annual Richmond Maritime Festival – August 23 and 24, 2025

Country Wines Winery – Weekends, May Long Weekend until the end of October 2025

Take a tour of Country Vines Winery, a six-acre vineyard located behind Richmond Country Farms, to learn about that city’s rich agricultural heritage and how its fertile land contributes to making award-winning wines.

153 Annual Chilliwack Fair – August 8-10, 2025

The Chilliwack Fair held at the Chilliwack Heritage Park is the second oldest continuously running Fair in BC. Despite being the foundation on which it was built, the fair is about much more than agriculture.

At the fair, you’ll find amazing food vendors, entertainment, face painting, pony rides, marketplace vendors, a Rough Stock event on Friday night (bulls, bareback, saddle bronc), a BCRA Rodeo, 4-H and farm animals, live music, talented local artists, a kitchen stage, a photo booth, inflatable games, and more!

In recent years, they’ve added the Vancouver Circus School, CampH FMX bike flipping, Laser Tag, Foam Party, and a ninja parkour course!
