Now, Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi‘s movie Dhadak 2 has made its way to the theatres. The film is directed by Shazia Iqbal and it opened to positive reviews from the masses. Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi’s movie Dhadak 2 barely managed to mint Rs 3.35 crore at the box office on its opening day as reported by Sacnilk.com. The number is much lower than expected. It is far behind the opening day collection of Saiyaara. Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s movie set a massive record by raking in Rs 21.5 crore on its first day at the box office. Dhadak 2 has failed to touch the mark. In fact, it did not even break the record set by Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s movie Bhool Chuk Maaf. The film had made around Rs 7 crore on its opening day. Dhadak 2 has also failed to match the euphoria of its predecessor that starred Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. Dhadak that released in 2018 has roughly made around Rs 8 crore on its opening day.
What is Dhadak 2 about?
Triptti Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi’s movie revolves around Vidhi and Nilesh’s love story. Vidhi hails from a wealthy, upper-caste family while Nilesh is from oppressed caste. Their love story falls in trouble when Vidhi’s family objects to their union. It is a remake of Tamil movie Pariyerum Perumal.
Stiff competition from Saiyaara
Dhadak 2 is facing stiff competition from Saiyaara. Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s movie is still running in the theatres and there is crazy buzz among the masses. On its day 15, i.e., Second Friday, the film directed by Mohit Suri managed to mint around Rs 4.25 crore at the box office. These are the early estimates.
