Enough already! Harry, Meghan and Andrew – we are tired of you

It’s impossible to escape it. The Royal Family, once the epitome of calm, dignity, and tradition, is now a never-ending soap opera. And with every headline featuring the Sussexes or the Yorks, it becomes clearer: the public has had enough.

This week, we find ourselves subjected to the latest instalment in the ongoing saga of Prince Harry, Meghan, and Prince Andrew – a report of an alleged punch-up between the petulant prince and his disgraced uncle.

Yes, you read that right. Another family drama, and frankly, many of us are too tired to even pretend to care anymore.

Harry, once seen as the rebellious, likable ‘spare,’ has long traded his royal duties for a Hollywood lifestyle drenched in self-pity and virtue-signaling.

His and Meghan’s ‘tell-all’ interviews, their media deals, their public preaching – all of it feels less like advocacy and more like self-serving theatrics designed to perpetuate their celebrity status. Yes, they’ve faced challenges, but at this point, it’s hard to know what’s real and what’s simply spun for clicks. The endless cycle of accusations, allegations, and public woe is nothing short of exhausting.

Then there’s Prince Andrew – the royal uncle who lost his job and his dignity following his scandalous connections to convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. His disgrace was supposed to be the end of his story. But somehow, like an unwelcome guest who doesn’t know when to leave, Andrew’s ongoing attempts to remain relevant only deepen the embarrassment.

And now, every newspaper editor’s fantasy – a scandalous headline involving both of these tiresome royals in the same story!

Juicy? Or just plain boring?

I’d suggest the latter.

We’re tired. The monarchy – once revered for its stoic endurance – is now more like a reality TV show. When I speak to everyday ordinary people, the mere mention of Harry, Meghan or Andrew leads to eye-rolls, almost like a reflex.

Harry and Meghan have carved out lucrative careers for themselves on the back of their royal status, yet they still act as though they’re oppressed. Prince Andrew, meanwhile, seems incapable of understanding why the public just don’t like him.

The truth is simple: The public doesn’t want to hear about their squabbles, their lawsuits, their awkward family feuds. We’ve been told that they want privacy, and yet every week ‘royal sources’ emerge with a new headline, a new tale of woe, and a fresh opportunity to air their grievances. The tired cycle of outrage, remorse, and apology is like a worn-out tape loop that no one wants to hear anymore.

Enough is enough. We’re done with the theatrics. We’re done with the drama. We’re done with the constant need to be heard, to be seen, to be relevant. The public’s patience is running thin.
