Tim Lovejoy hints at ‘Soccer AM return’ as details emerge on new show launching Saturday

Tim Lovejoy hints at a ‘Soccer AM return’ as details emerge on a new show launching this Saturday ahead of the 2025/26 season.

‘Soccer Amen’ is to be a new podcast and TV show, as per their Twitter, and it has got fans excited with a sense of nostalgia.

A tweet via the Soccer Amen social media accounts read: “Lovejoy, Tubes, Robbie and Sheephead are back every Saturday. Watch or listen and join in on Spotify or YouTube.

“Back together to chat football, culture and bring world peace. Amen

“Any questions for the gang? Want to take part in the quiz? Seen anything you think they should know about, then start following us.”

It was just 12 months ago, that Tim Lovejoy and Helen Chamberlain announced news that they were launching Soccer A-Z, however that is no longer.

The duo were original hosts of Soccer AM for over a decade on Sky Sports, Helen Chamberlain had presented the show for 22 years, while Tim Lovejoy, hosted from 1996 to 2007.

On the 22nd of March 2023, Sky announced that the show would be axed after the end of the current footballing season, with it’s final set of presenters being John Fendley and Jimmy Bullard.

Helen and Tim reunited, ‘bringing back the trademark chemistry, humour and footy chat their fans know and love for a fantastic, brand-new project. Arriving on 4th September 2024, Soccer A-Z was the news fans have been waiting for.’

Each week, Soccer A-Z, led by nothing other than the alphabet, saw each episode tackle a variety of football-related challenges and triumphs, as decided by the letter of the week. This was more than a podcast talking about the clubs, the players and the money – Soccer A-Z had the fans in mind every step of the way.

However, it lasted around 7 months, with a new football podcast called ‘Whistleblowers’ taking over the socials and a new presenting line-up of Gordon Smart, Mark Clattenburg and Ian Ladyman. You can still watch all the episodes via the YouTube channel or socials (under the username @blowerspod from August 2024 to March 2025.

Also want your fix of former Soccer AM presenters Jimmy Bullard and John Fendley?

They have reunited for ‘FC Bullard’, with the description on YouTube reading: “A fictional football club founded by Jimmy Bullard and John Fendley, aka Fenners.

“Right now, they have nothing. No kit, no stadium, no manager, no badge, no players…

“Each episode they decide what they need at FC Bullard and interview for the role. Sometimes they speak to big name guests from the world of football. Sometimes they hear from grass roots legends. Sometimes it’s just them two chatting absolute nonsense.

“FC Bullard. Welcome to the club.”

They are still putting out content, the most recent video a month ago, and their videos a hit with fans.

And for something slightly different, around six years ago, Tim Lovejoy & Tubes put out a YouTube channel called the GOLF LIFE, and there’s so much content of theirs to catch up on…

Here’s how Twitter users reacted as Tim Lovejoy hints at a ‘Soccer AM type return’ as details emerge on new show launching Saturday…

@TonyLeadbeater: No Helen 😢😢

@danwilsonooy: Where’s @HellsBellsy. Won’t be the same without her.

@RobboGills: Holy shit. I’m in

@johnsonchris88: Here. We. Go. 😍

@Hud316: Hearts top of the league and soccer am lads back …what a start to the week 🙌 #hmfc #socceram #socceramen

@lloseby: Proper Soccer AM #SaveChip ❤️

@Mathew45: Created THE best sports show ever! Sadly missed all of you – including Hells Bells. Nothing comes close to the entertainment that you all provided on a Saturday morning.

@LeighHow: This best be a soccer AM return. There is nothing on a Sat morning for footy fans, soccer sat has gone too, there’s is a gap for something.

@CoachWG1: Yessssss!!!! I’ve not been able to rely on any weather forecast since 2007. Buzzing

@Daddybaldi: All or nothing… Fenners stole the show.

@adamcarrara1: Need fenners and hells bells as well. Fuck it, throw the bulldog in as well.

@Tommo93: have waited 18 years for a sheephead weather forecast sponsored by northern gravy. If this is another Saturday morning footie show I’m dropping all plans to watch…

@Keepsweatin69: Tubes was only funny because he was off his tits drunk every week

@elo_okay: Sheepshead’s alive!!!!

@Jeli1do: Fenners was the star of the show. Without him is like making a boxing comeback with one hand

@ba55bar: The boys are back in town. Nice to see Sheephead in adult trousers

@TinkyTink: Wheres, @HellsBellsy

@lukecullen: 🤯 Is that Sheephead? Massive gap for any sort of decent football programme

@guffsafc73: Just imagine… #SoccerAM

@Strickland__Ben: I know a lot of people had issues with Soccer AM towards the end. But Saturday mornings have not been the same without it. I really hope this is a revival of the show and not just some radio show/podcast

@beard_capt: Fucking hope this is right and fenners and Helen are back to

@newmantaz: 4hr Socceram marathon not a sprint Saturdays are back?

@GAV_GWA: The kids of this day can’t handle Soccer Am

@AlexEveritt91: Excuse me 😍😍😍

@afccharlie: Please be some sort of soccer am. No way it gonna be on sky tho otherwise they be pumping the life out of it

@Modmuffin: Even in 2025 Soccer Am could work with this lineup. Podcast was funny but they are needed back on our screens Saturday mornings🤞
