Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s new film Saiyaara is a blockbuster hit. The film marks the debut of Ananya Panday’s cousin. He has become the new heartthrob of Bollywood. Girls are swooning over his charm. Saiyaara directed by Mohit Suri managed to touch the right chords and is now one of the highest grossing movies of 2025. Post the release of Saiyaara, speculations were being made that the movie is a remake/copy of a Korean film called A Moment To Remember. Is it? Writer Sankalp Sadanah had finally broken silence on all the rumours.
Is Saiyaara remake of a Korean movie?
In an interview with Komal Nahta, Sankalp clarified that the film is not a copy of any movie and rather emerged from an original idea. He was quoted saying, “Honestly, so much has already been said about this. All I can say is—the Korean film is out there, and so is Saiyaara. Watch both and judge for yourself. You’ll be able to tell whether it’s inspired, a copy, or an original.” He further explained how the idea of Saiyaara came into existence. He said that the idea of Saiyaara came into existence when they were in talks for making another film (Aashiqui 3). He shared that Mohit Suri shared the idea with him and asked him whether it was worth making. Sankalp Sadanah further shared that when the core of Saiyaara was discussed, there was no story or screenplay in place. Solely over a single emotion, the story was built around it. The line that appears in the movie ‘A hit song isn’t the one that stays in your head; it’s the one that stays in your heart’ is what gave way to Saiyaara.
Saiyaara box office collection
It has been three weeks of Ahaan Panday’s Saiyaara’s successful box office run. It had a massive opening day business as it registered Rs 21.5 crore. Within the first four days, the movie had crossed the mark of Rs 100 crore at the box office. After 21 days, the movie has now crossed the mark of Rs 300 crore at the Indian box office.
