Brazil Turns Itself Into A Metal Gear Shrine On Wplace

With Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater releasing before the month is over, excitement for the game is peaking. The franchise’s appeal isn’t just limited to the US or Japan, as even Brazil is getting on the hype train.

People from Brazil have started posting artwork on Wplace, a website designed by Murilo Matsubara that gives participants an entire map of the world to draw pixel art on. Given the vastness of the world, it’s said that there are four trillion pixels worth of space for artists to work on.

The muse of this art is none other than Big Boss or Snake, whichever you want to call the super-spy.

MGS Delta Shown Some Love In Brazil

The artwork was posted on X (formerly Twitter), where we see Snake rendered tastefully by artists from Brazil. Check them out alongside the translated text.

Artist Kallus states (via machine translation), “after a 24-hour rollback forced me to redo the entire line art, I finally finished the john venom snake metal gear from br-101 on place.”

Another one comes from Gkz, and this shows a more serious take on BIg Boss:

The artist notes, “Simply a Metal Gear mural at Wplace in Teresina, for the love of God, let’s be friends/

Both are a testament to the cultural impact of Konami’s espionage action franchise, which has transcended gaming.

While Metal Gear Solid Detla is set for release on August 28, its multiplayer mode, called Fox Hunt, will be released at a much later time in 2025. Even if that’s not the news you want to hear, it looks like Konami is confident in MGS Delta’s quality, as the game’s review embargo lift date has been revealed, and it shows the publisher’s confidence in the game.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of MGS3 on Unreal Engine 5 that also brings about new gameplay enhancements, new audio work, and a lot more.
