Bobby Deol consoles Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera during his father’s prayer meet; Mika Singh, Daisy Shah spotted [Watch video]

Salman Khan’s long-time bodyguard and personal aide, Gurmeet Singh Jolly, better known as Shera, has lost a close relation of his very recently when his father, Sunder Singh Jolly, died on August 7 at the age of 88. Shera’s father had reportedly been fighting cancer for a while. His last rites were carried out the same day at Oshiwara Crematorium in Jogeshwari West, Mumbai. On Sunday, August 10th, a prayer meet was held at a Mumbai Gurudwara to pay tribute to his memory. A number of Bollywood stars came by to pay their respects and offer their support to Shera in this time of bereavement.

Actor Bobby Deol, who was wearing a plain black T-shirt, was spotted warmly embracing Shera, providing comfort and support as he struggled to deal with the profound loss. Salman Khan’s sister Alvira Agnihotri also attended the prayer meet to offer her respects. Singer Mika Singh, Bigg Boss 17 contestant Mannara Chopra, and singer Rahul Vaidya were among the other celebrities seen at the prayer meet. Shera had earlier released an official statement announcing the unfortunate news. In his message, he penned: “My father Shri Sunder Singh Jolly has left for heavenly abode today. The last journey will start at 4 PM from my residence 1902, The Park luxury Residences, Off Lokhandwala Back Road, Oshiwara, Andheri West, Mumbai. Cremation will take place at Oshiwara Crematorium , Jogeshwari West ..in grief Shera.”

The loss followed mere months after Shera and his family had celebrated joyfully his father’s 88th birthday, so the news was all the more tragic. After announcing his father’s death, Salman Khan himself was seen paying visits to Shera’s home to express his sympathy. Viral clips on the internet featured the superstar arriving in guarded vehicles, alighting from his car, and embracing Shera with tears in a loving hug at once. The two entered the complex together, with Salman remaining by his loyal friend’s side amidst the grieving moment.
