As you make your way to Mount Olympus from the surface in Hades 2, there is one enemy that you will encounter for whom you will almost feel sorry and wouldn’t want to fight. This foe is none other than Prometheus, the Titan of Foresight.
Going back to the roots of Greek Mythology, Prometheus has always been one of the beings who was fascinated with mortals. According to many stories, he used clay to make mankind. But this admiration for his creation led him to steal fire from the Olympians and give it to humanity.
Zeus did not like it, and he punished the Titan of forethought by tying him to Mount Kaukasos and having his eagle eat his ever-regenerating liver daily. His only crime was to help humanity prosper, and for that, he had to suffer for an eternity.
Now, in the events of Hades 2, with Chronos having a chance to overthrow the Gods, Prometheus is back to get his revenge on Zeus. Unfortunately, Melinoe has to be the one to fight him to prevent the Titan of Time and his forces from setting the world back to a dark age. So, here is how you can beat Prometheus.
How To Prepare For The Prometheus Fight
Let us start with Keepsakes. As Prometheus is the third guardian of the surface, you will get a chance to change your Keepsake after defeating Eris. So, if you still have some Armor left, and you are confident in your skills of clearing the coming encounters while taking no hits or minimal damage, go for Arachne’s Silken Sash.
If you are looking to do some free damage at the start of the fight, you could equip Odysseus’ Knuckle Bones to make Prometheus lose 5% or 15% of his health at the start of the fight, depending on its level. Lastly, if you are out of Death Defiance, then going for Schelemeus’ Luckier Tooth is a good idea.
Be sure to look out for any Centaur Hearts and Soul Tonics to increase your maximum HP and magick. Additionally, if you get some Boons of higher rarity for your strike attack, special attack, or Cast, you can consider swapping them, even if it means you sacrifice your original Boons.
The main Boons I used for this fight were:
- Aphrodite’s Flutter Strike
- Poseidon’s Wave Flourish
- Aphrodite’s Rapture Ring
As for the weapon, I used Black Coat (Xinth) with Selene’s Gift of the Moon Phase Shift.
How To Beat Prometheus, Titan Of Foresight In Hades 2
Unlike the Eris fight, which can feel quite fast-paced at times, Prometheus attacks a lot less frequently, but when he hits, he aims to do some serious damage. So, the best way to defeat him is by prioritizing dodging them and only attacking when you have a clear chance.
Like most boss fights, you should take the first phase slowly and try to face as many of his unique attacks as possible in the first phase itself. This is because he will also be using them in his other phases, so it is important that you learn how to dodge them properly.
The second and third phases are quite similar, and you mainly need to eliminate the enemy mobs before going back to fighting the Titan.
Selene’s Gift of the Moon Night Bloom can be useful from the second phase onwards, as you can use the Satyr summons to deal some damage to Prometheus.
Once you are able to consistently dodge his attacks without taking any or at times little damage, all that is left is to barrage him with your attacks, and you can defeat Prometheus easily.
Prometheus, Titan Of Foresight Phase 1
Attack |
Description |
Action |
---|---|---|
Eagle Attack |
Prometheus sends his eagle toward Melinoe to let it attack her. After the first launch, the eagle launches itself two more times at her. And ends the move by shooting gust projectiles in 8 directions and flying away. |
Dodge to the sides when the Eagle flies at you, and run away from it when it uses its gust attack. |
Ground Pound with Flame Ring |
Prometheus jumps in the air and pounds the ground, which does an AoE attack. This attack is followed by a blue ring of flame that lasts for a few seconds. |
Run away from Prometheus when he jumps to get out of the range of his AoE and blue flame ring. |
Flame Trail |
Prometheus creates a red path that follows Melinoe wherever she runs. After a few seconds, he will create a trail of blue fire in this path. These flames don’t immediately disappear and will damage you if you touch them while they are still on the ground. |
Try running into a corner while being away from Prometheus so that when he creates the flame trail, it doesn’t occupy too much space in the arena, and also gives you enough time to dodge. |
Flame Vortex |
Prometheus will chase Melinoe for a few seconds and then stop to create a blue flame vortex in her direction. |
Run away from Prometheus to dodge this attack. |
Kick followed by Flame Arc |
Prometheus chases Melinoe around the battlefield and does a spin kick. This attack is followed by an arc of blue flames. Getting hit by either move will do a decent amount of damage to you. |
Run away from the kick and dodge into the flame arc just when it is about to hit you. |
Casting a Circle of Flames |
Prometheus casts a ring of flames; he doesn’t spawn it immediately, but rather hovers it around Melinoe for a few seconds. Once it locks the ring in, he covers the entire area with blue flames. |
Run to some corner of the arena and dodge out after he locks the ring in place. |
Dash and punch |
Prometheus dashes at Melinoe to punch her. |
Dodge away to avoid getting hit by this attack. |
The two main moves that you need to adapt to quickly in this phase are his flame trail and circle of flames attack. Both of these moves have the potential to cover a sizable portion of the battlefield in fire if you let them take up space and don’t react on time.
Avoid standing in the blue flames, and if you do walk in it, then dodge or run away quickly. This fire can chip a lot of your health, even if you stand in it just for a few seconds.
So, whenever you see Prometheus making a trail or a ring, try running to the corner as fast as you can and then away from him. This way, when he unleashes the attack, all that is left to do is dodge to a safe side.
Prometheus can be quite slow with his attacks, especially in the first phase. So try dashing in and using your Cast and strike attacks, then quickly get away, when he is about to hit you with any of his moves.
After you deplete around 33% of his health, Prometheus jumps out of the arena to use his next attack, which starts the second phase.

Description |
Action |
---|---|---|
Triple Trails of Flame |
Prometheus jumps out of the battlefield and creates multiple trails of flames thrice. These attacks happen back-to-back and can deal a huge amount of damage if you end up on a track with fire. |
Pay attention to the order in which he spawns the trails. There will always be three paths: top, middle, and bottom. He can spawn a trail anywhere, but will always leave at least one path clear. Remember the order in which he attacks and stand in the clear path to avoid getting hit by the flames. |
Summoning Satyr Sappers |
Prometheus summons three Satyr Sappers from Mount Olympus, who attack you by throwing projectiles at you. |
Eliminate the Satyrs before fighting Prometheus. |
The triple trail is a one-time attack and can be quite easy to deal with, especially if you are fighting this boss the second or third time.
Essentially, you only deal with one new move in this phase, which is the Satyr summons. These can be a bit annoying at first, but shouldn’t give you too much trouble if you attack them with your Casts and Specials.
The one thing to note is that, from the second phase on, Prometheus can do a combo of his previous attacks. That means he can summon his eagle, and while you are busy dodging the eagle, he can dash at you to land a punch or summon a Vortex near you. Similarly, he can make a combo of his other moves.
Once he is left with around 33% HP, he will again jump out of the arena to use the same attack as before and start the next phase.
Prometheus, Titan Of Foresight Phase 3
Attack |
Description |
Action |
---|---|---|
Penta Trails of Flame |
Prometheus summons five trails of fire this time instead of three. |
Remember the order in which the paths showed up in the lanes, and stand in the empty lanes to avoid getting hit by the fire. |
Summoning Satyr Goldpike |
Prometheus summons three Satyr Goldpikes from Mount Olympus, who throw spears at you. |
Eliminate the Satyrs before fighting Prometheus. |
The third phase is pretty much exactly the same as the second phase. Since there are two extra flame trails this time, it can be a bit harder to avoid if you forget the order. If that happens, you can try playing safe by standing in the middle lane once a set of flames passes by and then react to the next lanes by immediately dodging to the next empty lane.
As for the Satyrs, these enemies will also have shields, so you will have to hit them from behind in case they start blocking your attacks. Instead of killing them one by one, you should move around while dodging Prometheus’s attacks. This way, the fight may last a little longer, but you will be able to deal with the enemies more safely.
Prometheus, Titan Of Foresight Rewards

Like previous boss drops, you can repeatedly earn Feather by beating Prometheus over and over again. You can use it to upgrade the Arcana Cards, like Persistence for 1x Feather and 4x Moon Dust or Strength for 2x Feather and 12x Moon Dust.
