Performance

SainLogic Weather Station 13
SainLogic Weather Station 14
The Sainlogic SA7 Smart Weather Station is a nice entry-level device that offers good features and a lot of weather information. For the average homeowner, this is an easy-to-install and use weather station that allows you to keep an eye on the weather. It does not come with a dedicated display, and it is only accessible via the Weatherseed app and utilizing a 2.4GHz-only wireless connection. It cannot connect to 5GHz. The latest data is available each time you open the app from a closed status.

It provides information for measurements and conditions like temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed, and wind direction. The outdoor sensor is mainly solar-powered, with battery backup for reliability.

It also included a nice feature that they call data logging, which provides up to 2 years of trend storage and exportable logs, and there is integration via Weather Underground for broader data comparison and sharing.

I like that there are multiple ways to mount the weather station and that the base station maintains a solid connection with the device. The app is user-friendly, and I have found the data to match other sources that I use to determine accuracy.

Weatherseed app:

The Sainlogic SA7 Smart Weather Station works well and is a practical solution for monitoring weather on a budget. IMHO, the data is accurate and reliable and can be accessed whenever desired via the Weatherseed app. The lack of a dedicated display with “always available” visible data is something that would cause me to look to purchase one of Sainlogic’s more complete models that include a dedicated display.

Final thoughts

The Sainlogic WiFi Smart Weather Station SA7 is a nice entry-level weather station. It is easy to set up and mount, and the Weathersseed app provides all the information that I want and need. My only wish is that it has a dedicated display with automatic real-time updates. Batteries should also be included.

What I like about the Sainlogic WiFi Smart Weather Station SA7

  • It is easy to set up
  • It is compact and looks clean and interesting when mounted
  • It is easy to mount.
  • Provide a lot of useful data

What needs to be improved?

  • This is not a negative, because this is an entry model. However, I would like to see solar panels on all models so that a real-time, continuous data display is a basic capability.
  • Only supports 2.4GHz WiFi (no 5GHz)
  • AA Batteries Not Included
