Kamal Haasan has found himself in trouble after making a statement about Sanatana Dharma, and as demands for a boycott escalated, he has now received a death threat. Ravichandran, a small-screen actor, has vowed to kill Haasan because of his views on Sanatana Dharma. Kamal Haasan criticised the central government’s National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) during the 15-year celebration of Tamil star Suriya’s NGO, Agaram Foundation, claiming that it has crushed the aspirations of many MBBS aspirants and is a “ill outcome of Sanatana Dharma.” Following this remark, Haasan experienced widespread backlash and boycott calls, and he has recently received a death threat.

TV actor’s threat to Haasan alarms fans

Television actor Ravichandran referred to Haasan as a “naive politician” in a YouTube interview, even going so far as to threaten to “slit his throat” for his anti-Sanatan remarks. For Kamal Haasan and his fans, this has caused grave concerns.

What did Kamal Haasan say?

Kamal, who is now a Rajya Sabha MP and founder of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), stated, “In this war, only education has the power to change the nation. It’s the only weapon that can break the chains of dictatorship and Sanatana. Do not take any other weapon in your hands. You can’t win with any other weapon. Because you will be defeated by majoritarianism; ignorant majoritarians will defeat you.”

BJP calls for boycott of Kamal Haasan’s films

After Kamal Haasan’s recent comments on Sanatana Dharma, the Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for a boycott of movies starring the actor-politician. BJP state secretary Amar Prasad Reddy shared a video message on social media, saying, “Earlier it was Udhayanidhi Stalin, and now it is Kamal Haasan who wants to destroy Sanatana Dharma. Let’s teach them a lesson.”

He urged Hindus to avoid seeing Haasan’s films, even on OTT platforms, saying, “If we do this, they will stop making irresponsible comments that hurt the sentiments of millions of Hindus.”

Senior BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan also slammed Haasan, accusing him of demeaning Hindu values and denouncing his comments.
