Steam is running a Civilization sale that encompasses some of the best games in the franchise, including the biggest price cut yet to the most recent entry, Sid Meier’s Civilization 7.
The sale is part of a larger platform-wide Steam sale with some incredible deals that are only up for a brief window, and it’s definitely worth jumping on to see what’s cheap right now. The Civ sale includes quintessential Civilization games that are easily the most beloved in the franchise, listed for incredibly low prices that you simply can’t beat.
The Entire Civ Franchise Is On Sale On Steam Until August 18
Civ 5 & Civ 6 Are At A Massive Discount Right Now
The Civ franchise sale slashes prices for the best games in the franchise, such as Sid Meier’s Civilization 5 and Civ 6, with older games such as Civ 3 (less than a dollar) and Civ 4 (about $6) being discounted as well. The discounts range from as low as 30% off all the way up to 90% off, and even extends to less-popular games such as Beyond Earth, which is available for just under $10.
The best deals in this sale are easily for Civ 5 and Civ 6, however, with Civ 5 being available for 75% off and the Civ 6 base game being 90% off. You can get the bundles that include all DLC for these two games at a discount as well. Both of these game discounts end on August 18.
You’ll have until August 25 to take advantage of the Civ 7 deals, however. This Sid Meier’s promotion includes a new Civ 7 bundle with a 30% off sale that includes all current DLCs, the Settler’s Edition. You can still purchase the Deluxe or Standard edition for a 30% discount as well.
Civ 5 & 6 Are The Perfect Entry Points Into The Franchise

Sid Meier’s Civilization 5 and Civ 6 are easily the best entry points in the franchise, with both games being lauded as possibly the best Civ games of all time. If you’re trying to get started with Civilization games and don’t know where to start, Civ 5 or 6 are excellent options at this discounted price.
Civilization 7 is also a great game, but it is quite different from the previous entries in the franchise and not quite as beloved for various reasons, primarily dealing with some problems they tried to solve with various systems from previous titles. However, the core experience is still worth trying out, but by comparison, Civ 5 and Civ 6 are better bets if you’re looking to get hooked on Civilization.
