Liverpool release never-before-seen video of Diogo Jota talking in interview before his death

Liverpool release a never-before-seen video of Diogo Jota talking in an interview just before his death earlier this summer.

The Reds have posted a new 72-minute film, “Champions 24-25: The Inside Story,” looking at their Premier League title win, featuring interviews with players like Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, and Alisson Becker, and head coach Arne Slot.

It also pays tribute to Diogo Jota, whose tragic passing in July 2025 deeply affected the club, while acknowledging his key contributions to the record-equalling 20th league title.

We also see Diogo Jota talk in the never-before-seen Liverpool interview before his death.

In a short clip uploaded to Instagram to announce the launch of the video, Jota says: “To arrive at this particular season with the title I’ve been chasing for a lot of years. It is a remarkable achievement. It’s a moment I will cherish forever. It was outstanding.”

On what scoring against Everton meant to him: “It was a very tough season for me but I was always there fighting and I could help the team that day and I’m proud of what I could still do.

“It’s hard to describe. That’s the feeling I look for when I play football, that’s why you put all your life and all your efforts to moments like that, moments where you can decide an important game.

“As a striker the best way is to score a goal, it is worth it to keep going and searching for moments like that. You just feel amazing. I could help the team that day and we just built on the momentum from there. In the end you can say that was a decisive week.”

He goes on to say: “It is something I could not even dream as a kid, I wanted to play in the Premier League but I could never imagine to win it.”

The documentary end with Jota reflecting on the celebrations: “Pictures that will be shown forever. It is a remarkable achievement for a small guy that came from Gondomar, where I had this dream. Finally we did it. But it is a moment I will cherish forever like I said because it’s a remarkable achievement.”

Liverpool said via their official website: “A brand-new LFC Original film takes you behind the scenes of Liverpool’s spectacular 2024-25 Premier League triumph.

“Available to All Red Video members now, Champions 24-25: The Inside Story features in-depth interviews with the playing squad and head coach Arne Slot.

“Across 72 minutes, Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Alisson Becker and more relive a campaign that culminated in unforgettable scenes of jubilation at Anfield.

“The programme also honours the memory of Diogo Jota, whose sudden and tragic passing in July left the club devastated.

“Jota was, as ever, an influential figure throughout the season, having a huge impact on a record-equalling 20th English league title with vital contributions at key moments.

“Elsewhere, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch and Curtis Jones discuss a midfield synergy that fuelled Liverpool’s hunt for success.

“Andy Robertson, Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley offer insight on the defensive fortitude that kept the Reds ahead of the chasing pack.

“And the words of Slot, spanning the entirety of his historic first season on Merseyside, shed light on the thinking, planning and execution on the road to victory.”

Champions 24-25: The Inside Story is now available to stream on All Red Video, which launched in May and replaced LFCTV GO. It is also available to watch on LFCTV and with a YouTube Membership – Anfield tier.

All Red Video is available online, via the All Red Video mobile apps (Apple and Android) and through a selection of TV apps – Roku, Amazon Fire TV and Android TV.
