Ping have launched the Ally Blue Onset putter as part of PLD range with this new mallet offering maximum MOI and forgiveness on the greens.
The PLD range of putters has long been a success, but no mallet in the series has been as forgiving as the Ally Blue 4 Onset model.
Constructed with an aluminum and stainless-steel mix and featuring a squarish mallet head, the Ally Blue delivers top-tier forgiveness and is ideal for golfers seeking maximum stability on mishit putters.
It is Ping’s answer to the Zero Torque trend for high MOI and hugely forgiving putters than are designed to straight through impact time after time.

Ping Ally Blue Onset Putter Design
The Ping Ally Blue is the newest addition to Ping’s PLD Milled series and is noted for a high-tech, tour-validated design that is all about forgiveness.
Unlike many past Ping putters with single-material or simpler constructions, the Ally Blue combines an aluminum body and hosel with a 304 stainless-steel soleplate.
The hybrid design achieves exceptionally high MOI (Moment of Inertia) in this model for greater forgiveness and enhanced stability on off-center hits compared to earlier Ping models.
Most Ping mallet putters were face-balanced and best suited for straight-back-straight-through strokes, but the Ally Blue Onset is specifically designed for strong arc strokes.
That’s because Ping have introduced 3 degrees of toe hang into a mallet shape for the first time in search of adding forgiveness to this high MOI model.
The putter face has Aggressive Milling Pattern (AMP) and is precision-milled for over four hours to achieve a deep groove pattern for a soft yet responsive feel and enhancing control.
The putter is available only in blackout gunmetal finish and has a highly contrasting single white alignment line for easier setup and alignment on the greens.
Ping Ally Blue Onset Putter Review: Is it any good?
The Ping Ally Blue Onset is newcomer of note in the PLD Milled range – and the most forgiving mallet we have seen from the brand.
It takes things in a different direction from previous as it a rare mallet that is designed specifically for strong arc putting strokes and that is something we’ve never seen before.
Not officially added to the Zero Torque category of putters, it is Ping’s answer to high MOI mallets and delivers on similar models from Odyssey, TaylorMade and Scotty Cameron.
There’s a lot to like about the premium looks of the putter with a slick black design and the face milling also adds to the quality and overall you won’t be disappointed with this new launch.
