In just a few days, one of the year’s biggest gaming events kicks off in Germany with gamescom 2025. For this year, Microsoft has confirmed that it’ll have a sizable Xbox presence at the show.
While there is a chance Microsoft will unveil something as part of gamescom Opening Night Live, you might want to temper expectations a bit.
Microsoft has revealed the games it plans to showcase at the show, and while there are heavy hitters on display, these are games we already know about.
The big thing gamers will want to check out is the portable Xbox from ASUS, called the ROG Ally, which is finally getting an info blowout. We’ll most likely hear about its release date and price, though we’re not expecting it to be cheap, given the leaks.
The Xbox booth will feature over 20 games encompassing first- and third-party titles. If you can’t attend gamescom, don’t fret, as Microsoft will have a two-day broadcast of games.
Here’s the schedule per Microsoft.

While the games to be featured on the gamescom show floor have been revealed by Microsoft, there is still a chance the Xbox brand will have a surprise or two during Opening Night Live.
The event will once again take a few hours, so there is a possibility Microsoft has a surprise or two up its sleeve. That said, given the early games announcement, Microsoft could very well be tempering expectations, which is always a good thing. It’s better to be surprised than disappointed, right?
If we do get a surprise announcement for Xbox, we’ll have it up here on DualShockers. While gamescom Opening Night Live kicks off on August 19, expect gamescom to run from August 20 to 24.
