Achyut Potdar, who played the role of a professor in Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots, passed away at the age of 91. Industry is mourning the loss.
Veteran actor Achyut Potdar is no more. As per the latest reports, the 3 Idiots actor breathed his last at the age of 91. He was hospitalised in Thane and passed away on Monday, August 18. He was best known for playing a confused professor in Aamir Khan’s movie 3 Idiots. His dialogue ‘Kehna kya chahte ho’ had become quite famous. As per the reports, his funeral will take place on August 19. Reports suggest that he died due to age-related illness.
Many from the industry are mourning the loss. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta is one of the first one to pen a note for Achyut Potdar. He wrote, “I was a fan of his character as Jaggu dada’s father. The line “Ae Jaggu” from “Angaar” made me his permanent fan. Was a privilege to have directed him in my directorial debut “Jayate”. He played a professional medical witness. Amazing timing and a super caustic sense of humour. Go well Achyut Potdar sir.” Most of the fans are sharing the video from 3 Idiots to remember the star and pay their tributes.

Who was Achyut Potdar?
Achyut Potdar was one of the prominent names in the film industry. He worked in over 135 Bollywood films and also featured in 95 TV serials. He also appeared in several plays and advertisements. As per reports, Achyut Potdar was a post graduate with major in Economics. As per reports he worked as a professor in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. He was also an employee at Indian Oil for 25 years. He was also a part of Indian Army. It was at the age of 44 that he joined Bollywood. He had played pivotal roles in movies like Parinda, Narasimha, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Damini – Lightning, Karzzzz, Lage Raho Munna Bhai and many more. May his soul rest in peace.
