Gary Neville gets caught making a dig at Leeds fans live on Sky Sports as they cut back from ads early before kick off.
It came in the Sky Sports coverage of Leeds’ Premier League opener against Everton, with Neville saying he wouldn’t want to go near Leeds fans, prompting a quick apology from host David Jones.
Neville doubled down on the remark, citing his deep rivalry with Leeds from his Manchester United days, and stated he’d never have played for them, Manchester City, or Liverpool.
Just minutes into the last Premier League opener of the matchweek, which was moved to a Monday night for broadcast, Leeds fans could be heard chanting “Sky TV is fucking shit”.
It was Leeds who won it at the end, with a late penalty from Lukas Nmecha. The referee deeming it to be handball by Everton’s James Tarkowski when Anton Stach struck a shot.

Back to the hilarious gone viral moment and the Video footage zoomed on a group of home fans, with Neville heard saying: ‘That’s one group of fans I wouldn’t want to go near.’
David Jones tried to alert him to his blunder, but he and Jamie Carragher couldn’t help but laugh at his blunder upon realising they were back on air.
Jones said: ‘I do have to apologise.’
Neville: “Did you hear that?”
He quickly stood by his comment and repeated it before more laughter.
Jones: “I don’t think they want you anywhere near them either, so it’s fine! They have been looking forward to this.”
After the game, Carragher brought up the mistake again as Leeds fans celebrated their win.
Neville said: “I’d put Elland Road definitely alongside Anfield, Ibrox and Celtic Park, some of the great hostile grounds that were just ferocious when you went there. You knew you hard to work really hard to win.”
Carragher: “Do you not like going to them ones either?”
Jones said to Carragher: “You’re not going to let him live this down, are you?”
