A few months after divorce from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, Dhanashree Verma has now shared her side of the story. She recalled the time when they were in court for the verdict on divorce.
Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma‘s divorce ruled headlines for quite a few months. It came as a shocker to many as the couple decided to part ways within five years of their marriage. Yuzvendra Chahal in a recent podcast spoke at length about their relationship and reason behind divorce. Now, it is Dhanashree Verma who has broken her silence. She recalled their visit to court on the final day of divorce proceedings and mentioned that she broke down in front of everyone.
Dhanashree Verma reveals she got emotional when in court for divorce verdict
To Humans of Bombay, Dhanashree Verma opened up about her reaction to divorce when they were in court. She shared that even though they were mentally prepared, she started crying and howling in front of everyone. She shared that when in court waiting for verdict to be given, she got pretty emotional. “I couldn’t even express what I was feeling at that point. I just remember that I just kept crying, I was just howling and crying. Of course! All of that happened, and he (Chahal) walked out first,” Dhanashree Verma said.

In the same interview, she also opened up about Yuzvendra Chahal’s ‘Be Your Own Sugar Daddy’ t-shirt stunt. The ace cricketer wore the t-shirt with the printed message for his divorce proceedings. It led to a lot of chatter with many blaming and pointing fingers at Dhanashree Verma. She that she knew people are going to blame her for divorce. In fact, even before the t-shirt stunt, she was aware that fingers will be pointed at her. She added that she was surprised though by Yuzvendra’s t-shirt. “Are bhai, WhatsApp kar deta. T-shirt kyu pehna hai? (You should have sent it on WhatsApp. Why wear the T-shirt?),” she said.
Dhanashree Verma further also emphasised how she stood up for her husband at every given opportunity. She shared that everybody has seen how much she has stood up for her partner and may be that is why she got emotional in court.
