We’re officially in “ber” month territory! This means that every game studio and publisher’s big game for the year will be released in the next 3–4 months to capitalize on the holiday shopping season.
For the week of September 1 to 7, a whopping 18 titles are set to be released on the PlayStation Store, with some highly anticipated titles making their debut.
These aren’t shovelware either, as some are AAA titles that have hype behind them.
PS5, PS4 Game Releases For Sept. 1 to 7
Release Highlights for the Week of Sept. 1 to 7
Hell Is Us (PS5 – Sept. 4): Developed by Rogue Factor, Hell Is Us is an action-adventure game and is considered a Souls-like, though its combat is a lot more player-friendly, with more save points and generally a lot more forgiving. There’s a demo out now in case you want to try before you buy.
Hollow Knight: Silksong (PS5, PS4 – Sept. 4) – In development for over five years, this sequel to one of the most lauded indie games got a surprise release date announcement at gamescom. There’s also going to be a physical edition release next year, though it’s a timed exclusive for the Nintendo Switch 2 initially.
Cronos: The New Dawn (PS5 – Sept. 5) – The first game from Bloober Team after the excellent Silent Hill 2 remake, Cronos is an entirely new IP built by the studio from the ground up. Based on what’s shown so far, Cronos is bridging sci-fi survival horror with a time travel element to introduce something new to horror fans. Can Bloober replicate their Silent Hill 2 remake success? We’ll know for sure in a few days’ time.
Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots (PS5 – Sept. 5) – The latest entry in the long-running Hot Shots Golf franchise, expect tight golf gameplay with a diverse cast of characters that offer different strenghts and weaknesses. If it’s anything like past Hot Shots Golf entries, expect a lot of replay value, and a game that’s easy to get into, but hard to master.
NBA 2K26 (PS5, PS4 – Sept. 5) – While non-sports fans might scoff at this entry, this has sold miliions every year, though that might be because there’s no other NBA game in the market outside of this one. If you’re an NBA fan, this is your only choice. Expect a roster update, refreshed visuals, and new gameplay enhancements.
