REVIEW – I’m the type of person that needs to have a fan to sleep. If I’m feeling overwhelmed or overstimulated, I can sit down in front of a fan and make all the troubles go away. Aecooly Aero Pro handheld fan is small enough to carry in your pocket, but powerful enough to blow your cares away.

Design and features

Aecooly has a handheld fan that is just over five inches tall, has six different power settings, and a 3500mAh battery. That might not be the longest battery life, but it can last up to 15 hours. Even longer if you’re only using the lower power settings. There are four normal power settings, and two turbo powers. The fan shows the battery life on initial startup, and then shows the power level. I like knowing how much battery it has left, plus the charging is fast.

The Aecooly Aero Pro handheld fans have an airflow that is very direct. Instead of a little wind in a larger area, it is more focused and very specifically blowing where it is aimed. They call it the Turbo Windfocus Ring. It has a maximum rotational speed of 19,000 rpm and a wind speed of 11 m/s. This fan is not the quietest fan. It almost sounds like a blow dryer, one of those fancier, less noise blow dryers, but still pretty loud. One nice thing about these fans not being super quiet is that I can hear them and find them easier after somebody else has used it, and the battery doesn’t deplete as fast because you know it is on. I love that these fans are enclosed, and I don’t have to worry about any fingers or hair getting stuck in the blades. Even with the broken fan, the blades are still enclosed and haven’t caused any problems in that area.

My children have even started using these fans to cool down their food. This does cause the fans to get extremely messy. I wish that there was a flap, or cover of some kind, for the charging port. It hasn’t been a problem yet, but I could see food or dirt or whatever else being stuck in the charging port and causing issues.

Because of the angle that this head sits on, I feel like it is more prone to breaking along the seam that connects the body with the head. One of our fans has actually cracked, and the top part can come off, not easily, but enough that it could cause a problem. The nice thing that I discovered, though, is that the way that the head is connected doesn’t affect the charging port if this does break. So even if the fan is slightly off kilter, the charging port is still intact and I don’t have to realign anything to plug it back in and have it charge. There are a couple of wires that go between the body and the head joint. Our fan hasn’t gotten to the point that the wires have broken, or that the top is continuously falling off, but it’s nice to know that the danger factor is still relatively small.

On the Fourth of July during fireworks it was really smoky and not much breeze so these fans helped keep the smoke out of our eyes. I hand these to my toddlers for playing in the stroller while we go for our walks. My oldest took it to camp with her. I always have one in my purse. My family that lives in St. George likes temperatures much higher than I do, and this fan definitely comes in handy when visiting. My husband keeps one at work. There are so many scenarios where these fans can be used. I almost always have one to cool down, or distract my kids.

Another thing about this fan is the sleek design. Not only is it lightweight and small, but it has the same diameter throughout the whole device. I have been toying around with 3-D designing, and making different things that I can attach to this fan and have it sitting on my desk or hooked onto the stroller, or attached to my sink for dishes, or stove for cooking. There are so many possibilities with the simple design of the fan and a little innovation.

Final thoughts

We have used this fan on so many occasions. The price is decent, and the safety aspects of this fan make them keepers in my opinion. However, they are loud. Level one might be doable at church, but even that is pushing the limits when everything around you is quiet. The airflow is great though, and I keep one with me most of the time.

What I like about Aecooly Aero Pro fan

  • small
  • Shows battery on startup
  • 6 speeds
  • Fan blades are enclosed and safe
  • Comes with wrist strap
  • has plenty of fun colors to choose from

What needs to be improved?

  • Not very quiet
  • The joint between the head and body is a weak point and easier to break
