Cannatrol Cool Cure – Cannabis Dry, Cure & Storage System

When it comes to growing cannabis, whether done at home or commercially, the growth phase is only half of the process. Once your flowers are ready to harvest, it’s crucial to ensure they’re dried, cured, and stored in a clean and well-controlled environment free of excess humidity. The high amount of water in the buds after they’re harvested not only makes it impossible to smoke the plant, but can also cause mold to grow if stored without properly drying it first. Traditional drying and curing methods involve using air conditioners and dehumidifiers to remove the excess water content in harvested cannabis flowers, but these methods tend to prove unreliable, often resulting in over-drying, mold growth, reduced yields, and inconsistent quality in the flowers overall. Meet the Cannatrol Cool Cure Clear UV Glass, a revolutionary, all-in-one dry, cure, and storage system for home growers that eliminates the guesswork out of the post-harvest process.

WHO IS CANNATROL? (THE COMPANY’S STORY)

Cannatrol is a 12-year brand in the cannabis industry that specializes in the manufacturing of precision-controlled drying and curing systems designed to consistently deliver perfect drying, curing and storage conditions for the cannabis flower, giving cultivators complete control of the post harvest process.

Cannatrol is owned by VT Dry & Cure Technologies, which initially focused on developing the first-of-its-kind vapor pressure control technology — its patented Vaportrol technology — that aids in the drying and aging processes of cheese and meat by effectively managing the moisture removal rate, thus guaranteeing consistent, repeatable outcomes.

Not long after, Cannatrol’s Co-Founder and inventor of the Cannatrol system, David Sandelman, realized he could apply the company’s Vaportrol Technology to the difficult task of drying and curing cannabis.

Having successfully tested the technology for more than a decade in large-scale cheese and meat production facilities, VT Dry & Cure Technologies developed a specialized version of their original product called Cannatrol — tailored for cannabis cultivators — by adapting their vapor pressure control technology to improve the post harvest processes of cannabis flower, focusing on maintaining optimal water activity for quality and preservation.

GadgetGram’s Editor-in-Chief, David Novak recently had the pleasure to get in touch with Cannatrol’s Co-Founder and CTO / COO, David Sandelman, who proudly mentioned that “the Cannatrol Cool Cure Clear UV Glass is designed to consistently deliver the perfect drying, curing and storage conditions for the cannabis flower.”

Cannatrol’s David S. explained how the device streamlines the post harvest process, saying “While legacy post harvest methods focus on incorrect measurements such as percent-moisture and humidity levels, the real indicator of properly dried and cured cannabis flower is water activity. This metric consists in measuring bound water, which is molecularly bound to the plant’s structure, along with free available water, which is where mold and microbes grow on. Once you get to the right balance of water activity by removing that free available water—typically measured at a value of 0.6—mold and microbes can no longer grow, meaning you have a shelf-stable product.”

David concluded by noting that “Not only does our at-home drying, curing and storage system maintain your flower in perfect condition—no matter the climate—but it also offers a functional, sleek, countertop design that fits seamlessly into modern kitchens, wellness rooms, or private lounges.”

HOES DOES THE CANNATROL COOL CURE CLEAR UV GLASS WORK?

THE TECHNOLOGY BEHIND THE SYSTEM

The Cannatrol Cool Cure leverages Cannatrol’s patented Vaportrol Technology to control water loss by regulating vapor pressure through temperature and dew point to ensure the correct final water activity in your buds after they’re harvested. This enables the system to create an optimal environment for producing consistent, repeatable, and superior results every time with increase yields on every harvest, all without requiring burping or regular maintenance.

2. Cannatrol Cool Cure Clear UV Glass 5According to independent testing by the Cannabis Research Coalition, Cannatrol’s patended Vaportrol Technology is proven to cause over 20% less damage to trichome cuticles (external structures on the cannabis plant that prevent water loss) and deliver a higher terpene retetion of 16% on average when compared to traditional drying and curing methods.

Thanks to its patented Vaportrol Technology, the system can retain more terpenes, potency, and flavor, ensuring your buds remain sticky, supple, and aromatic for several months.

HOW TO USE THE SYSTEM?

The Cannatrol Cool Cure Clear UV Glass comes equipped with six adjustable shelves, which can hold around 4 pounds (approximately 1.8 kg) of cannabis flower, along with a water cup and sponge that are used for humidity control (installed at the bottom left corner inside the unit).

The unit’s operation can be configured through the 7-inch color touch screen integrated at its top side, which has a user-friendly interface.

Simply select your temperature and dew point levels (up to five different settings per dry/cure cycle) and the system will dry-cure your harvest in a perfectly controlled environment, eliminating the need for manual interventions like jar burping.
