The EcoFlow Wave 3 with Add-on Battery has its usual EcoFlow modern and contemporary design. It is lightweight, portable, and quite powerful. The main air conditioning unit measures approximately 20.4 × 11.7 × 13.2 inches and weighs about 33.7 pounds. It also features an IPX4 water-resistance rating, has a nice LED light on the front, and an LED control panel on top with buttons to manage all functions. Performance

Since I had already tested and reviewed the EcoFlow Wave and Wave 2, I knew what to expect from the Wave 3. If EcoFlow kept its level of quality and performance, things would go well, and they did. The Wave 3 is a heater and AC with more power/output than its predecessor, and I knew that it would be the perfect solution for cooling and heating my new studio/office space. The EcoFlow Wave 3, enhanced with the Add-on Battery, is still as portable as expected and still has the same modern and sleek design.
Once I designed and implemented my unique test case, I powered everything up, and while charging the battery, powered on the Wave 3 and added it to the app. The app allows integral control of just about every feature.

The EcoFlow Wave 3 with an Add-on battery has a combined weight of about 55 pounds for both components. The AC has been upgraded to deliver up to 6,100 BTUs of cooling and 6,800 BTUs of heating. There is also a new dehumidifier mode that is designed to handle humidity effectively. The add-on battery uses long-life LFP (LiFePO4) chemistry rated for over 4,000 cycles, supporting eco mode runtime of up to eight hours on a single charge. The battery is IP65 rated and can be fully recharged in as little as 75 minutes. There are USB ports on the front of the battery for accessory powering/charging. Of course, it would not be EcoFlow with the option of solar charging as well.
Here is how I use my EcoFlow Wave 3:

Final thoughts

The EcoFlow Wave 3 with Add-on Battery is the perfect solution for an air conditioner in my new office/studio in my basement. I use my Delta Pro and Ultra Power Station to power the AC. The add-on battery is the backup. It works amazingly well and keeps my otherwise very hot space quite chilly. I tested the heat and it works, so I am looking forward to having proper heat during the NY winters—another great EcoFlow device appreciated by an Ecoholic.

What I like about the EcoFlow Wave 3 with Add-on Battery

  • The sleek ergonomic design
  • The easy integration with the add-on battery
  • The performance and the cooling capability
  • It is lightweight and portable
  • The automatic draining function
  • The ability to use it for heating as well
