EDISHINE Dimmable Corner Floor Lamp review – A bright light stick on a stand

REVIEW – The EDISHINE Dimmable Corner Floor Lamp has a lot of adjustability built into this slim, bar-style lamp. Three family members asked me where the lampshade went, or ‘where’s the top?’ Until they saw it turned on and I showed them the controls and variety of settings. Then they got it.

Design and features

The Edishine Floor Lamp has LEDs running nearly its full height. The lamp works best facing a wall and standing near enough to the wall, to reflect light into the room. It’s not designed to face the LEDs towards a room and that would be irritating to those in the room. The Edishine Floor Lamp is considered an accent lamp, or mood lamp.

Assembly, Installation, Setup

Online photos of the Edishine Floor lamp show the lamp at three different heights, but the instructions do not mention setting up the lamp with fewer sections. The website warns “Do not bend or disassemble lamp rod”. When I inserted the sections together the fit was appropriately tight.

When I assembled the sections of the light rod, the round, metal edges of a couple of sections shaved a tiny bit of the connector plastic. Since the pieces fit so tightly I was not interested in disconnecting sections to experiment with shorter lengths of the lamp, and I wanted the lamp to be at the full brightness it could produce. So I left all four sections connected.

Performance

I kept the Edishine Floor Lamp on from wakeup to bedtime most of the days of my review period. Nothing about the lamp faltered at any time.

The lamp comes with a remote control and built-in floor switch, both of which cycle through the light color temperatures and brightness levels. That’s a nice engineering touch because the remote can be across the room but if you’re at the lamp you can still control off, on, colors and brightness with the foot switch.

This is the daylight type of light temperature.  The one we never use I like to call, ‘medical office white light’.

The design of the lamp is more modern than our decor but isn’t out of place in the location where we put it. We had a dark area of our den that needed accent lighting. The Edishine lamp was a definite discussion piece because people do see it when first entering the room. But once you get used to the fact that it is ‘there’ it just gives background or accent light and attention isn’t drawn to it.

This photo shows the yellower color temperature.

My daughter joked about how I could have lost the lampshade, and a grandson asked, “Hey! Where’s the top of this thing?” But when I demonstrated the controls, the LED colors and brightness levels, they stopped prodding me.

We liked the thin design of the Edishine lamp.

Final thoughts

The light color choices and wide range of light levels made us quick fans of the Edishine Dimmable Corner floor lamp.

What I like about The Edishine Dimmable Corner Floor Lamp

  • Easy assembly
  • Easy to use remote and foot switch
  • Stepless brightness levels
  • Three useful light temperature / color choices

What needs to be improved?

  • If the light can be used in shorter sections the directions should include clear installation information
