With the holiday season fast approaching, now is a good time to start grabbing a few affordable stocking stuffers or party favors. And if you have a Super Mario fan on your shopping list, Amazon has a pair of officially licensed mystery boxes for low prices. We originally published this story in late October when we found TOMY’s Yoshi Wind-Up Mystery Egg 12-Pack. You can still get a dozen Yoshi for $23.63, but now you can also snag 10 Mario Kart toys for $21.17. TOMY’s Mario Kart Pull-Back Racer 10-Pack features eight different characters from the Mushroom Kingdom and their standard karts.
These deals are shipped and sold by Amazon. You’re paying significantly less by purchasing a full box instead of single capsules in stores. Super Mario mystery capsules like these tend to sell for $5 or $6 each in stores, but with these boxes you’re paying roughly $2 per figure.
$23.63
Inspired by Japanese Gashapon machines, these egg-shaped capsules each hold one wind-up Yoshi. There are six colors in the collection: blue, red, purple, yellow, green, and pink.
You can wind them up and watch them walk across a flat surface or go head-to-head and race. The box the capsules are dispensed from is pretty cool, too.
Blind box toys are a staple in checkout lanes at grocery and department stores. If you’re a parent, you have probably either purchased an overpriced capsule toy or explained to your child why you aren’t paying $6 for a little plastic figure. But $2 Mario figures? That’s far more reasonable.
$21.17
Speaking of $2 Mario figures, TOMY’s Mario Kart blind box includes 10 mystery capsules for $21.17. The box comes with all eight racers in the collection and two duplicates. Each capsule has one character and a logo sticker to place on the front of the kart. Since these are pull-back cars, you simply drag the kart backward to wind it up, then let go and watch the race unfold.
Here’s the list of characters featured in TOMY’s Mario Kart Pull-Back Racer Collection:
- Mario
- Luigi
- Peach
- Yoshi
- Toad
- Bowser
- Donkey Kong
- Wario
Mario Kart fans can also get Hot Wheels diecast car blind boxes for $10 each or in a 6-pack for $36.70. Amazon also has a 6-pack of 1.25-inch figures from The Super Mario Bros. Movie for $21.41 when you click the coupon box on the listing. These aren’t blind boxes, but they have similar appeal as small figures in Super Mario-themed Question Block containers. Unfortunately, you won’t get Yoshi, because he wasn’t in the movie.

Nintendo fans can also grab a few collectible toys inspired by the worlds of Kirby and Pikmin. Re-Ment’s Kirby blind boxes feature adorable diorama pieces of the pink blob, and each one rests on a base that features an elegantly written title on it. Sleep Kirby has the little glutton catching a few Zs, Round Kirby looks downright delicious, and a few of the other pieces feature several familiar characters. Kirby Swing Series 2 blind boxes are discounted to $8 right now.
The other series from Re-Ment is themed around cubic spaces, little Wonder Rooms for Kirby and his friends to inhabit. Priced at $18, each blind box can contain one of six possible Wonder Rooms with different figurines inside of them. These are quite colorful, and the angular design makes them easy to organize on a shelf or a desk.
Kirby fans can also get Kitan Club blind boxes featuring miniature Kirby figures or drinking glass charms for $8 each.
Pikmin fans have two lines of toys to choose from, all produced by Re-Ment as well. The Pikmin Terrarium Collection reimagines characters from the series inside of man-mad terrariums like lightbulbs and glass bottles, and this six-figure set is priced at $14 per blind box. This proved to be a popular line of collectibles, and it was expanded on with a second set of terrarium-themed collectibles featuring more Pikmin and even a few of their foes.
