Arccos sensors are designed to transform your golf game by providing automatic shot tracking, in-depth analytics and personalized club recommendations. Learn how to use and set up Arccos sensors.
The sensors are small, lightweight devices that attach to the end of your golf club grips. Once installed and paired with the Arccos app, they automatically detect each shot you take, record data such as distance and location, and sync this information to your smartphone for real-time analysis.
On average, Arccos users lower their handicap by five shots in their first year of use
We’ve put together a step-by-step guide to help you get started, how to use the Arccos sensors and how to maximize the benefits of the technology to improve your game.
What are Arccos Sensors?
First things first is to understand what they are. Arccos sensors are innovative tracking devices designed to help golfers analyze and improve their game with ease.
The sensors automatically record data for every shot you take, including position and distance, and send it to the Arccos app for analysis.
Arccos then uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide personalized recommendations, track strokes gained, and pinpoint your strengths and areas for improvement.
Arccos Sensors Cost & Price
The regular retail price is $249.99 for a full set of Arccos GEN 4 Smart Sensors. Discounted price during sales can go as low as $174.99 for the set.
Individual sensors are priced at $17.99 per single sensor for new users.
The annual subscription is free for the first 12 months with one year coming free included with sensor purchase. The subscription fee thereafter is $155.88 and auto-renews.
The can be purchased from brands such as Ping, TaylorMade and Cobra when buying a set of irons or golf clubs.
How To Set Up Arccos Sensors
The setup process should take less than 10 minutes and can be completed via the Arccos app. To get started:
1. Unbox Your Sensors
Each set typically includes 14 sensors, one for each club, with a special sensor for your putter.
The all-black sensor is for your putter – the rest can be used on any other club.
2. Attach the Sensors
Firstly remove any stickers from the sensors. Twist each sensor into the hole at the end of your club’s grip until it’s secure.
3. Return Clubs to Bag
After installing each sensor, place the club back in your bag to avoid cross-pairing errors during setup
4. Start Pairing the Sensors
Download the Arccos app from the relevant app store and create an account or log in.
You will need to ensure bluetooth, camera and microphone permissions are enabled on your phone for the pairing process.
In the app, choose the option to manually select clubs to pair. To pair each club, take one out of the bag at a time to again avoid cross-pairing.
Simply hold your phone’s camera over the top of the sensor and the app will recognize and assign it to the correct club. Once paired, return the club to your bag before moving to the next one.
If a sensor doesn’t pair immediately, flip the sensor down to the ground for 15 seconds, then try again with good lighting.
5. Playing Your First Round
You will need to keep your phone in your front lead pocket while playing to ensure accurate shot detection, or use the Arccos Link or Apple Watch if you prefer not to carry your phone.
As you play, the sensors will automatically detect each shot and send data to your phone via Bluetooth.
The app overlays your shots on a GPS map, tracks distances and provides club recommendations using AI-powered Smart Caddie features.
6. Analyse Your Performance
The app also provides in-depth stats after each round, helping you identify areas to practice and monitor progress over time.
An active Arccos membership is required for continued access to analytics and Smart Caddie feature.
You do get the first year of app membership free when purchasing a sensor set but will need to renew when 12 months are up.
Using Arccos Sensors on Multiple Club Sets
You can transfer sensors between sets or purchase additional sensors. The app allows you to manage and switch between different club sets.
If you have a single set of Arccos sensors, you can physically move them from one set of clubs to another. After switching the sensors, you’ll need to update the Arccos app to pair the sensors with each club in the new set.
To keep all your tracking data merged, just swap the sensors and pair the clubs using the “Sensor Diagnostics” tool in the app.
If you want to keep data for each set separate, unpair the first set in the app, then use “Add New Clubs” to pair your second set. Your first set will appear as “Unpaired Clubs”; when switching back, just re-pair those clubs in the app.
