Bryan Kohberger‘s fellow inmates have reportedly found a way to antagonize him despite the convicted murderer being in solitary confinement at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution.
According to reports, many of them yell through the vents connected to his cell block and have been taking turns carrying out the disruptive acts.
Bryan Kohberger is currently serving four consecutive life sentences at the correctional facility for the murders of four University of Idaho students.

Barely weeks into the start of his consecutive life sentences, Bryan Kohberger is finding out that life in prison is far harder than he could have imagined.
The convicted murderer is currently residing in solitary confinement in a cell in IMSI J block, the restricted unit that houses violent offenders.
Still, per a source that spoke with the Daily Mail, he has been the subject of a “relentless” taunt campaign by many of the inmates within the block.
“It’s driving him crazy,” said Chris McDonough, a retired homicide detective with prison connections.
He noted, “The inmates are tormenting him at night and almost all hours of the day — taunting him through the vents in his cell. They are literally getting up into the grate and yelling at him. The inmates are taking turns doing it. It’s relentless.”
According to McDonough, Kohberger has been “extremely annoyed and frustrated” by the taunts, which likely began the moment he was placed in the facility.
The former police officer also claimed that the convicted murderer has complained to prison officials about losing sleep because of the harassment.
Bryan Kohberger Is Among 535 ‘Volatile Male Residents’ At The Institution

Per the Department of Corrections’ website, he is one of the 535 “volatile male residents” the institution currently houses.
He is listed alongside Chad Daybell, the convicted child murderer and husband of “Doomsday” cult mom Lori Vallow.
This is likely why the former PhD student was placed in solitary confinement, as many inmates might want to harm him “just to make a name for themselves.”
While solitary confinement ensures he avoids situations where he could be physically injured, it also means he is unlikely to get any respite from the taunting.
Prison Officials Are Unlikely To Intervene To Stop Inmates’ Taunts

According to McDonough, prison officials aren’t likely to stop the inmates’ antics since they do not pose a physical threat to Kohberger while he remains in solitary confinement.
Meanwhile, aside from the taunts from inmates, Kohberger has had to adjust to the downsides of being in solitary confinement.
He is only let out once a day for recreation, during which he must still wear restraints, unlike inmates in the general population.
He is also allowed to bathe only every other day, a stark contrast to his time at the Latah County Jail, where he stayed during his trial.
Latah County Prosecutors Claim They Knew Bryan Kohberger Was Guilty

Though the murder case ended with a plea deal, prosecutors claim that they knew right from the onset that Kohberger was guilty of killing the four Idaho University students.
“I knew he was guilty,” said Ashley Jennings, Senior Deputy Prosecutor of Latah County, the county where the trial was moved to from Moscow, per Fox 13.
She added, “Our investigators knew he was guilty, but hearing it from his own mouth and dispelling any doubters out there as to his guilt, I felt some satisfaction with that.”
Latah County Prosecutor Bill Thompson, who worked alongside Jennings on the case, confirmed they were fully prepared for trial and had been working seven-day weeks in the lead-up to the now-scrapped proceedings.
“I can tell you right up front, we were never looking for a plea in this case,” he said. “The defense all along had maintained that the defendant was factually innocent.”‘
Latah County Prosecutors Addressed Released Crime Scene Photos And Documents

Following Kohberger’s plea deal and sentencing, several documents from the authorities’ investigation have surfaced in the media.
The release of some of these materials, such as crime scene photos, has angered some of the victims’ families. However, according to Latah County prosecutors, they had no control over the decision to release them.
“I don’t want to cast stones, but I think there is a fundamental disagreement between our opinion on what should be released and what the legal counsel for the city of Moscow believes. And in the end, it’s Moscow’s legal counsel’s call,” Thompson told the outlet.
He added, “Investigation reports belong to Moscow police and the Idaho State police, and the FBI, and we understand that they’re tough decisions to be made. We’re really concerned about invading the privacy of the survivors and of the family members. I think it is probably best to leave it at that.”
