In the first year of his second term, President Donald Trump has deployed the National Guard to a handful of American cities, like Chicago, Portland, and Washington, D.C. He characterizes these cities as terrifying war zones, but many residents disagree.
This week, on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jimmy invited his brave viewers who live in these “war-ravaged” cities to post YouTube videos of what’s going on in the streets, using the hashtag #ShowMeYourHellHole. Last night, Jimmy showed a few of these clips, and I must warn you, they are not for the faint of heart.

Many of the submissions came from Portland, where one man reported, “You can see that the carnage here on the streets is amazing. People are fleeing because they can’t get reservations at the restaurants.”
Another Portlander captured the horrors of an afternoon drum circle in a park, saying, “The drums are very dangerous. You don’t know what they’re hiding in their drums.”

Someone else captured this shocking image of a dog wearing sunglasses, saying, “It’s so scary here that the dogs need protective eyewear.”
And this sign advertising “new breakfast” was captured by another Portland resident, who said, “I can tell that I’m behind enemy lines. It’s signs like this one here. I mean, clearly, this is a socialist, anarchist order, getting rid of old breakfast and insisting we all choose their new breakfast.”
Another brave soul stood outside of an ICE facility where he spotted “about 12 anemic baristas” protesting. He said, “These violent thugs behind me that are knitting over here, just pet my dog. Can you believe it? Thank you, President Trump. Thank you, Kristi Noem. Thank you for defending us.” Will the horrors never cease?
Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker also submitted a video exposing the apocalyptic state of affairs in Chicago. He said, “This is JB Pritzker reporting from war-torn Chicago. As you can see, there’s mayhem and chaos on the ground. It’s quite disturbing. The Milwaukee Brewers have come in to attack our Chicago Cubs.”

“We’ve seen people being forced to eat hot dogs with ketchup on them, and our deep dish pizza has gone shallow. So it’s a challenge to survive here in the city of Chicago, but there’s no hellscape that I’d rather be in.”
In the comments, people are loving this segment.
One viewer wrote, “The mockery by folks in Portland and Governor Pritzker are absolutely FANTASTIC.”
Another person said, “I love the Portland section. People still have their sense of humor despite the POTUS. Stay strong America!”
And someone else chimed in with, “Love the little videos people sent in from Portland. So funny. ️ stay safe yall!”
