LA Golf BAD V3-W Irons (Bryson DeChambeau’s Irons Reviewed)

LA Golf has launched a new iron for 2025 with the BAD V3-W irons set designed in close collaboration with Bryson DeChambeau.

DeChambeau was involved in the design and creation of the model – as he has been with the LA Golf driver – and the LIV Golf tour star and US Open now has the irons in his bag setup.

Developed alongside LA Golf’s Chief Design Officer Jeff Meyer, the BAD V3-W irons showcase several unique characteristics – most notably with a slightly curved face.

The irons are also designed using 3D Printing processes – a move Cobra have followed with their 3DP Tour irons – as well as having the same length shaft from 5-iron to 9-iron.

LA Golf BAD V3-W Irons Design & Specs

The LA Golf BAD V3-W irons were produced as a direct result of Bryson DeChambeau’s relentless pursuit for performance and precision from his irons.

The iron heads are produced using advanced materials and manufacturing techniques, including 3D printing, to achieve precise weight distribution and performance characteristics tailored to DeChambeau’s specifications.

Unlike traditional irons, the BAD V3-W use Bulge and Roll Face Technology and feature a slightly curved face – both horizontally (bulge) and vertically (roll).

The curvature is inspired by technology found in the design of fairway woods and helps to correct off-center strikes, ensures mishits stay straighter and improve overall accuracy with approach play.

Every iron from 5-iron to 9-iron is built to the same length, mirroring DeChambeau’s long-standing preference for one-length sets that started during his days working with Cobra.

The One Length Construction design is intended to simplify swing mechanics and promote consistent ball striking.

The irons are paired with LA Golf Prototype BAD shafts, which are also developed specifically for DeChambeau’s powerful swing, and come fitted with oversized JumboMax Tour Series XL grips.

Notably thicker and heavier than standard grips, with a butt diameter of 1.46” and a weight of 123 grams, they are included to promote stability and reduce wrist action through impact.

LA Golf BAD V3-W Irons Review: Are They Any Good?

The BAD V3-W irons have quickly become one of the most talked-about releases of 2025 – not unsurprising given the fact they are in Bryson DeChambeau’s bag.

The single-length construction and custom weighting provide consistent distance gapping and enhanced precision, while the bulge and roll face technology gives the kind of forgiveness more commonly associated with woods and hybrids.

DeChambeau’s results with the BAD V3-W irons speak for themselves, with strong showings at major championships and on the LIV Golf circuit, and they are seriously impressive.
