The Philadelphia Eagles will hope to avoid a three-game skid this weekend, travelling to Minneapolis for a showdown against the Minnesota Vikings. Philadelphia has defeated Minnesota twice in a row in 2022 and 2023. Now, we’ve asked our writers to predict a winner and score for Week 7.
The picks are in: we asked our writers to opine on the winner of Philadelphia Eagles at Minnesota Vikings this week, and the group has issued a verdict.
Oddsmakers believe Philadelphia will prevail by a point or two. Here’s what our people say.

Score Predictions from VT Writers
For the first time this season — and in a long while — our writers have somewhat overwhelmingly chosen the opposition to take down Minnesota. Here’s the breakdown.
Dustin Baker: PHI Wins, 27-20
Sean Borman: PHI Wins, 29-27
Janik Eckardt: PHI Wins, 19-17
Josh Frey: MIN Wins, 23-17
Henrique Gucciardi: MIN Wins, 24-20
Wesley Johnson: MIN Wins, 27-17
Kyle Joudry: PHI Wins, 27-21
Adam New: PHI Wins, 23-20
Tony Schultz: PHI Wins, 23-15
Ted Schwerzler: PHI Wins, 24-21
Ali Siddiqui: PHI Wins, 27-23

In Week 5, Ali Siddiqui and Josh Frey most accurately predicted the outcome, having claimed two weeks ago that Minnesota would defeat the Cleveland Browns by four points — and that’s what happened.
Season Standings from Our Writers
Here’s who’s the best at this prediction task:
Kyle Joudry: 4-1
Henrique Gucciardi: 3-2
Sean Borman: 3-2
Ted Schwerzler: 3-2
Cole Smith: 3-2
Janik Eckardt: 3-2
Adam New: 3-2
Ali Siddiqui: 3-2
Dustin Baker: 2-3
Josh Frey: 2-3
Wes Johnson: 2-3
Joudry leads the way in 2025 after finishing near the bottom of the pack last season when forecasting wins and losses for the purple team.
SI.com‘s Joe Nelson picked Minnesota over Philadelphia by three and explained, “I’m not sold on the Eagles’ demise after two losses. They lost to Denver by giving up 18 points in the fourth quarter, and the loss to the Giants was on the road on Thursday night. Those games are always crazy.
“That said, Philly’s offense has been inconsistent and they’re about to face a Vikings defense that doesn’t give up many chunk plays. If Minnesota can prevent Saquon Barkley from wrecking the game, they’ll come away with a victory. That happens because Brian Flores has had two weeks to prepare for this matchup, and Minnesota will likely have its healthiest defense since Week 1.”
Consensus Score Prediction
Taking into account all 12 writers’ forecasts for Week 7, our staff believes the Eagles will down the Vikings by a score of 23-22. A squeaker.
After Week 7, Minnesota gets four days of rest before travelling to Los Angeles for a Thursday Night Football date with the Chargers. Kevin O’Connell’s team had problems with a similar arrangement last year, losing to the Detroit Lions in Week 7 and then again in Los Angeles to the Rams in Week 8.
Perhaps this time will be different.
NFL Media Predictions
The folks at Bleacher Report picked Philadelphia across the board to prevail.
BR’s Ian Hanford wrote, ‘I’m a little surprised the entire crew is on the Eagles here, as they are struggling in every possible way at the moment. However, they’re still 4-2, and I expect they’re not thrilled after getting a beatdown at the hands of the Giants last week.
“The Vikings defense has been very good this season, but it has struggled to stop the run, so this is a game where a rested Philadelphia team can lean on Saquon Barkley enough to eke out a win by a field goal.”
Moe Moton on Philadelphia to win: “This feels too good to be true with all of the panel on the Eagles’ side, but it makes sense in this spot. The Vikings have two ailing quarterbacks going into this matchup. Starting signal-caller J.J. McCarthy is recovering from a high ankle sprain, and backup Carson Wentz suffered a shoulder injury in London two weeks ago.”
“Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell hasn’t named a starter, but it may not matter in terms of the spread. The Eagles just need to win by a field goal on the road, which shouldn’t be hard to do against a team with a banged-up QB room and three starting offensive linemen on the mend from injuries as well.”
The aforementioned O’Connell is due to defeat Philadelphia, losing to them twice in his young career.
