The Indianapolis Colts weren’t supposed to be the story of the NFL this fall. But three weeks into the 2025 season, they’ve become one of the league’s biggest surprises, and it’s all because Daniel Jones looks like a brand-new quarterback.
After years of dissatisfaction and inconsistency with the New York Giants, Indianapolis has become Jones’ new home. Leading one of football’s most explosive attacks, he is putting together scoring runs that have national commentators double-checking the box score and Colts fans giddy.

Daniel Jones Resurgence with Indianapolis Colts, Social Media Explodes
It’s the kind of start nobody saw coming, not even the most loyal believers in Jones.
And naturally, the internet has noticed.
“Is Daniel Jones… good? Like is this the true version of him now that he’s gotten away from the suck vortex of the Giants?” one fan asked on social media, echoing a thought many have had watching Jones in a Colts uniform.

Others have been more direct, pinning the blame squarely on New York’s coaching staff.
“Daniel Jones playing at an MVP level. Maybe it is the Giants coaching staff,” another fan posted.

One comment in particular has caught fire online: “Daniel Jones on the Giants: He’s gonna get Brian Daboll fired. Daniel Jones on the Colts: He’s gonna get Brian Daboll fired.”

Social media continues to roast the Giants with humor and disbelief.
“Daniel Jones looks like a different player. Last year, it was Saquon. This year it’s Jones. NY Giants are the common denominator, and not in a good way,” wrote one fan.

Another added with a laugh, “Even though my team is floundering, I can always laugh at the Giants for floundering Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley.”

It’s a stinging indictment of a franchise that spent years trying to turn Jones into the guy he suddenly appears to be for Indianapolis.
Night and Day Between New York and Indianapolis with Jones
For the Colts, his resurgence has been the missing piece. Behind Jones’ hot start and a revamped defense featuring new additions like Charvarius Ward and Camryn Bynum, Indianapolis is off to a 3-0 start after knocking off the Tennessee Titans. A team that looked destined for a rebuild is now sitting near the top of the AFC standings.
In the meantime, the situation in New York could not be more dissimilar. The Giants are 0–2 going into their game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. Although he was brought in to steady the offense, Russell Wilson hasn’t changed the course of the game.
It’s the cruel irony of the NFL: one man’s revival can be another man’s downfall. For Jones, the move to Indianapolis feels like a second chance at stardom.
