Fans reacted negatively to the moment, claiming McAfee and Lanning were doing too much. Social media followers called for ESPN to shorten the former Indianapolis Colts punter’s antics and return to discussing Football.

Ahead of the Ducks’ Big Ten clash with the Indiana Hoosiers tonight, after prompting from the former Crimson Tide Head Coach, Lanning and McAfee received backlash from fans after removing their shirts, with claims that they were ‘doing too much.’
“The crowd can affect the offence, and their ability to execute, and communicate, and that’s gonna be really important in this game, so you gotta do something to get their a– fired up.” Saban prompted, moments before Lanning and McAfee climbed onto the desk.

This tradition has become synonymous with McAfee’s ‘College Football Game Day,’ with a host of viral moments stemming from it, including the time the former NFL punter dived into a pool prior to Miami’s Game against Florida this season.
“Pat McAfee has made game day unwatchable, ” one fan wrote. This was accompanied by a string of comments in the same track, so some were absolutely disgusted, and some were amused.

“McAfee tried way too hard.” Fans were quick to pile onto the former NFL punter following the moment, with the Oregon head coach also seeing backlash.

Some fans have suggested that these antics and shenanigans result from ESPN’s decision to make the show three and a half hours long, suggesting that cutting it would result in fewer comedic moments seen every week. One fan put his heart out.

However, the majority of fans are on the side of McAfee, taking a liking to the absurd amount of energy and viral moments he brings to College Football every week.
Meanwhile, Coach Lanning will more than likely spend the rest of his day off social media. Tonight, the Big Ten clash against Indiana is coming up, and the undefeated Hoosiers are looking to climb up the College Football rankings with an upset.
According to Pro Football Network’s Power Rankings and Playoff Meter, Indiana is ranked 12th. In contrast, Oregon is ranked as the second-best team overall, just behind its Big Ten rivals, Ohio State, which is also undefeated.
